It was the Army that was fighting and loosing soldiers and claiming soil. The PAF should have backed the army. instead after the initial strike the PAF went on to protect its own and left the army to fend for them selves. which is why the PA ended up downing more IAF aircraft than the PAF!

What this tell us that never underestimate PAF..... their politicos could be mad but not their air warriors. Glad the IAF did learn a hard lesson in 65.

I hope You don't understand The Indian condition in 60's. It was early 60's when China break panchsheel agreement and attacked us. Nehru asked Help from USA, USA denied us help (Which put us closer to russia). China war broke India from inside, Our forex was low. Our food production was low. We were suffering from poverty and hunger(Which forced us to focus on green revolution).

Last war Pakistan fought with India was 18 year ago. Pakistan came closer to USA and got best defense Equipment. (Including World famous Patton Tanks). Pakistan saw it as an opportunity and tried to do a misadventure (Operation gibraltor) to capture Kashmir from us.

Even Weak India was not weak enough. They lost the war (If they have won it they have kashmir with them). I don't know why Pakistani teach there kids that they won 1965 war. There PAF gain upper hand (Due to Superior American system, and pooer maintaniance of IAF fighter planes(Due to lack of money)). If we exclude PAF's adventure, there Army, Tanks and Navy loss heavily everywhere.

The worst decision by PA (Ayub) was when they changed Gen. Akhtar Hussain Malik with Gen. Yahya before the final Akhnoor push was supposed to happen.

The changeover disrupted the entire plan and Indian army was able to recover and went on to cut GT Road.

It has always been the decision by our leaders which have put Pakistan in jeopardy.

Another fact that most people might not know about is that the Indian embassy in some countries like Indonesia were stoned by demonstrators because they were at war with Pakistan.
