19 NATO oil tankers burnt in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Aug. 22 (Xinhua) -- At least 19 oil tankers were burnt when a NATO supply convoy came under attack Monday afternoon in Pakistan's southwest province of Balochistan, reported local Urdu TV channel Geo.

According to the report, the attack took place at about 2:30 p. m. when unknown gunmen opened fire at a NATO convoy on the Sibi-to- Quetta Highway in the Dasht area of Mastung, a district some 60 kilometers south of Balochistan's capital city Quetta.

The attackers fled the scene after they opened fire at the convoy and set the oil tankers on fire.

Huge fire from the oil tankers could be seen several kilometers away, said the report, adding that six fire brigades were called in from Quetta to put out the fire.

No casualties were reported in the attack.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Attacks on NATO supply convoys are frequently reported in Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and southwest Balochistan province as nearly 70 percent of the NATO supplies shipped into Afghanistan has to pass two border ports in Pakistan, namely the Chaman border port in Balochistan and the Torkham border port in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

You solely blame US for every bad that happens in Pakistan? Isn't it the job of Pakistani security forces to flush these terrorists out and execute them for causing harm to the state?

If the super power USA cannot take out talib. then why do you expect 10x more of pak army. Give em some credit you ungreatful buffoo*

If we dont want the supplies to go through pakistan simply summon the other party and cancel the contracts , what is this continuous drama and Hippocratic behavior ?

I am not an ungrateful buffoon. I was testing member superkaif.

Now explain that how we should deal with these terrorists. Since Drone Campaign has a drawback of causing civilian casaulties, what is the best alternate?

Otherwise, it will be obvious who is the ungrateful buffoon here.

I suppose few in here are aware that the supplies coming through Pakistan constitute barely 30% of all the supplies that reach the NATO forces.

And for those harping about Libya's oil...

Josh Earnest (Spokesman of the administration): "The administration has no intention of changing its policy of keeping U.S. troops out of Libya."
