First of all, whoever said Chinese is a "Contextual" language is probably either don't know shit about Chinese or you are really bad at it, unlike other language, where you have 1 word, 1 meaning. Chinese character can have multiple meaning, and you cannot really understand what people are talking about without giving you context.

Take the word 行 as example.

Can anyone tell me what does "行" mean? If I did not give you a context how I am using the word 行 you will never know what I am talking about? @MH.Yang You want to have a try?

I can guarantee you anything you said is going to be wrong, because I can shift the meaning of the word and say it to something else. Yes, there are words in China that contextual meaning is implied. But first of all, you cannot get the meaning of 1 single character because again, unlike English word in China is compound. The word 會 used alone and using in 會議 would have different meaning, and second, there ARE GOING TO BE IMPLIED OR HIDDEN MEANING.

As I said, I am quite busy, I have written a poem myself in 2013 and if you think word are contextual and you don't even need to know the scope of what that is about, I can post it after I look it up on Facebook and we can discuss that if you want. But either way, saying Chinese context is implied probably either try to deflect people who don't really speak the language.

里 = Mile, yes, in this case, this is Chinese Mile instead of Imperial mile. But it is translated to Mile instead. 1里 = 500 米 1 英里 = 1600米, but both were called mile in English, you don't really say Imperial Mile or Chinese Mile.
