People who don't understand the history of the Han Dynasty can't understand it at all.

He should also know, if he is Chinese, where 狼居 is and what 狼 refers to, and why 狼 is used.

I didn't need research to understand this poem. Even reading a few sentences of Baidu or Wikipedia is sufficient, and I do mean only a few sentences.

There's some critical sentences in there that you not only got wrong but are wrong in the manner of Google translate.

See someone who only has rudimentary knowledge of Chinese or was using Google translate would misunderstand this and say that it was from the Han side, bragging about how powerful they were and making the Xiongnu women cry.

Something like this:

This poem seems like talking about a weakling following to the battle with a General (or King, depends on what do you mean by 皇) The person was young, puffy eye, bushy tail kind, who is not as brave as you thought. He follow the general (again or king) and going north thru 7000 mile and conquer (渔阳), a place near White River in Beijing. And turn into a fierce fighter, to a point the barbarian wife hear the name and scare.

But simple knowledge reveals that it is actually a lament from the Xiongnu side!

Many people in Sichuan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Anhui have accents. But when someone from Hunan says 不好意思，我普通话不行 with an accent it is VERY DIFFERENT than when a foreigner says in English, my Mandarin is not good.

One is really just an accent, the other is a total lack of understanding.
