160 Kamov choppers to be built in India, 40 in Russia

We don't call license manufactured products indigenous

'make in india' means manufacturing.

Its too early to replace the dhruvs
Ya manufacturing ...u mean assembling and after tot manufacturing.

But when after same manufacturing u call products indigenous ,does it sound legit or am i missing something.

Make-in-India means just that - Manufacture by setting up factories in India!

Indigenous development was never part of Make-in-India.

http://www.makeinindia.com/

On the contrary, Make-in-India incidentally covers mainly those products that India imports from outside.
Ok just saw the response.

But wouldnt that mean u wil have to attract more foreign investment to india from multinational cos so that they setup their manufacturing plants and aseembly lines??

The light multipurpose Ka-226T helicopter is equipped with two Arrius 2G1 engines made by the Turbomeca Company. The passenger version of this aircraft can carry up to seven people, while the transport version can carry one ton of cargo inside the fuselage or via an external sling. For transportation of oversized cargo, a high-capacity cargo platform can be installed instead of the regular transport cabin.

Only two helicopters reached the final stage of the tender, the “Russian helicopters” rotor-wing aircraft and the Airbus Helicopters one. The tender was cancelled in 2014.

Having finished the trials, the tender committee concluded “According to the conducted trials results, Ka-226T of Rosoboronexport (the Rosoboronexport company makes deliveries of ‘Russian Helicopters’ military production) and AS-550 C3 Fennec of Airbus Helicopters meet the operational requirements.

The Ka-226T can transport six equipped soldiers while the AS-550 C3 can airlift only four equipped troops. The European helicopter holds two stretchers (or one stretcher and a medic), and the Russian helicopter can take two litters and two medics. The bigger cabin size also provides advantages for the civil Ka-226T modification. The Ka-226T maximum payload is 40 per cent more than that of the AS-550 C3 (1160 kg and 760 kg respectively).

HAL has recently offered to the design bureau of the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant (MVZ) to start the joint development of Indian multi-role helicopter.

Every Indian Mi-17V-5 is equipped with modern avionics that display all helicopter systems information on four multi-functional screens. This significantly simplifies the pilots’ action and facilitates the helicopter pre-flight check. The rotary-wing aircraft being delivered to India are equipped with modern powerful engines that extend their capabilities to transport heavy and large-sized cargos in the Himalayas.

We have been manufacturing aircraft of foreign designs from raw materials since the 1950s - after recieving ToT from the OEM

Name one licensed manufactured product that Indians claim to be indigenous

Multinational Cos are setting shop here,in association with existing Indian firms

India's military has already committed to buying three different types of HAL helicopters, all powered by the Shakti engine that Turbomeca custom-designed for HAL. Optimised to fly at extreme altitudes of up to 6,000 metres (almost 20,000 feet), the Shakti engine supports Indian army troops deployed on the Himalayan watershed.

Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), which HAL is developing, Each of these light, three-tonne helicopters has a single Shakti engine.

The Rudra is powered by a new Shakti engine, jointly developed by Hindustan Aeronautics and French engine manufacturer Turbomeca.

I will ask u in another thread. Wont derail here

"Given how much we have indigenised the LUH, and its low cost, it would be hard for a foreign company to bid lower than us in the ROH tender. Remember, foreign vendors would be liable for offsets and would be required to indigenise up to 50 per cent," says an HAL executive.

HAL plans to build these light helicopters at a new facility on 610 acres that it has bought in Gubbi Taluk, Tumkur District, about 125 km from Bangalore. Additionally, there could be export orders for several of these helicopters. The Dhruv ALH is already in service in Ecuador and Nepal, and interest has been reported from Malaysia and Indonesia.

Priced at about Rs 44 crore, the Dhruv undercuts rival western helicopters. Increased Shakti production and the new MRO would lower acquisition and operating costs further.

That's the whole idea. India wants to attract as much of foreign investment into her manufacturing sector as possible. From simple assembling to full-fledged manufacturing with ToT.

And India, due to the volumes involved, has always been a very attractive place for many of those companies. But a manufacturing policy framework was badly needed, which is what the current government is trying to address.

This particular manufacturing of helicopters seems to be entirely with technology from Kamov. So no indigenous technology claimed.

It will be interesting to see if ADAG and tata could catch the deal. Looking at ADAG they might but TATA seems promising

Neither, it will be a third player. Kamov alreaddy has a JV with an Indian company for MRO facilities in India. That is likely to get upscaled.

We dont call Tot as indegeno like our neighbours does with Su27 or midget drone lol . Its pure russian product made in india and sold by India unlike our LCA or LCH ok buddy ?

can you list the components in LCA or LCH, please? its for my information only...I promise i wont mock it

Can you list pakistani made auto mobile engines please....? I never heard of any, its for my information only...I promise i wont even giggle.

Hain ? Baniya is very clever. Using its power to dent our relation with mother Russia.
WTF are you talking about? What 'relations'? just because you managed a couple of choppers from Russia you think they are allied with you? Wake up and smell the coffee. Indo-Russian relations go back decades. You discovered them only a few months ago. So you need to stop your orgasms.

we don't call licences manufactured items as indigenous like pakistanis do.
your so called indigenous fighter jet JF-17 actually don't have any indigenous(pakistan made) component in it.
