The explosives were being carried in a minibus by a couple. The explosives were in tins/boxes which the woman had claimed, at the bus station, to be carrying toys.

Police find cache of explosives in Lahore

LAHORE: Police said that they have uncovered a cache of bomb-making equipment and more than 3,300 pounds (1,500 kilograms) of explosives in an empty shop in the blast-battered city of Lahore on Monday.



Police Superintendent Ali Nasir says two suicide jackets, 16 hand grenades and hundreds of bullets were also found.



Police raided the shop Monday after a tip from the owner, who told authorities he'd become suspicious because his new tenants had never opened for business.



Police Chief Parvaiz Rathore said that while the investigation was not yet complete, ''we believe the recent terrorist attacks in the city have been originating from this place.''



Lahore has been battered by a string of explosions in recent days. The discovery was made near where five small bombs exploded Friday evening - hours after two suicide bombers killed 55 people in Lahore in coordinated explosions that also wounded about 100 people.

Serious Question! It happens in India too. Why all these seizures starts happening very next day of any major tragedy/ incident? Why can't the intelligence works at the right time to prevent any damage?

40 explosive-filled bags recovered from Iqbal Town LAHORE: Police have recovered a huge amount of explosives from a vacant house located in Iqbal Town of Lahore, police sources said.

The bomb disposal squad has been called to defuse the explosives, according to sources.

Sources said 40 bags packed with explosives have been recovered during a raid at a vacant house of the Iqbal Town.

In addition, two suicide vests and 18 hand grenades have also been seized.

Police sources further said that thousands of light machine gun bullets were also found from the house.

see what happens when there is awareness in public, they can act like police's eyes and ears, provide tips and save the day. Public needs to be made aware further, easy to remember police contact numbers should be advertised and discreetness and rewards promised through tv, radio, pamphlets, billboards etc and you'll see how effective of a tool public can become in fighting terrorism.

and the funny thing is that couple of days ago i said Police should raid in each and every house in Iqbal town and seal the ways to exit from Lahore and it was ranked a Lowly quality post by the Staff today they found these explosives from exactly the same town

Happy that they found these explosives otherwise who knows they would have used the same explosives in the coming days.
