Must admit never come across type 3 diabetes and the key to beat type 2 is to prevent visceral fat building up in the pancreas and liver, Prof Roy Taylor of the UK has done some outstanding research into the subject, he has shown that the disease cannot only be put into remission but actually reversed just by losing 1g of fat from the pancreas, to achieve this one has to go on a low carb low calorie diet of 800 calories per day for about 8 weeks and try to aim to lose about 15 kg of weight, the diet works best for those who have had the condition for less than 5 years though new trials are underway for those that have had type 2 for 10 or more years.

I hear you, I hear you. I'm about to shift to a low-carb/high-protein diet, and an extremely low calory content at that.

May I go on record to say how mortified I am by young thugs like you commenting on my spreading middle. Wait till you're 68 yourself :-(

Joe I actually put on loads of weight during the last couple of years, just too many Karahis, chappali, pakoras,,,,,barfi:hitwall: and for a few days I started to frequent the toilet more often and feeling thirstier than usual, this happened for about 4-5 consecutive days, I feared that I may be a type 2, so I took a Hbac1 test (the most accurate test) and thankfully my numbers came in as normal, since the scare I have lost a fair bit of weight and become much more aware of this terrible disease which can be reversed/cured according to the good professor.Kudos Joe
