141 more displaced families return from Afghanistan after getting no facilities
PESHAWAR – At least 141 more families from the internally displaced persons (IDPs) comprising 1400 individuals of the North Waziristan tribal agency have returned from Afghanistan after getting no facilities from the government there.
Before the launching of the operation, militants had persuaded to the locals to migrate to Afghanistan instead of shifting to the IDPs camps in district Bannu, promising them that they would enjoy all the facilities in the neighbouring country. Also some families having relatives across the border had also gone to Afghanistan.
However, some of the returnees told officials here that they were treated badly so that they have had to return to their motherland. Sources inside the FATA Disaster Management Authority said that these displaced families returned to Kurram Agency where they were being provided necessary facilities.
So far, 353 internally displaced families comprising 3110 individuals of the North Waziristan have returned from Afghanistan.
