14 countries interested in BrahMos missiles

No, India doesn't have the capability to integrate the weapon system at all. Its all Russian tech and guidance, how are Indians who can't even indigenously produce the missile be able to integrate it into foreign weapon systems?

Chinese deluding themselves once again with another dumb remark....

As far as the BrahMos is concerned, it has successfully been integrated and inducted in the Indian Army and Indian Navy and will be inducted in the IAF by 2014 with trails to be conducted in the year end...

By April 2013, Brahmos has been inducted in eight warships of the Indian Navy. The following ship classes of the navy are equipped with BrahMos:-
Godavari-class frigate - by 2007
Brahmaputra-class frigate - by 2007
Rajput-class destroyers - INS Rajput, INS Ranvir and INS Ranvijay were armed by 2007. The rest were armed by 2009.
Talwar-class frigate - INS Tabar and INS Trishul were the first to be armed. Other vessels of the class were armed by 2009.
Delhi-class destroyer - by 2009.
Shivalik-class frigate - INS Shivalik was the first to be armed. Other vessels of the class were armed by 2010.
Kolkata-class destroyer - in future.

The Brahmos Block I was inducted into the army on 21 June 2007.[26] The Brahmos has been inducted in three regiments of the Indian Army. The army has raised one regiment (numbered 861) of the Mark I and two missile regiments of the BrahMos Mark II, numbered 862 and 863. The first regiment with five mobile launcher costed $83 million to set up. Each of the two new regiments would have between four and six batteries of three to four Mobile Autonomous Launchers (72 missiles per regiment) that can be connected to a mobile command post. All these regiments will be part of the army's existing 40th and 41st Artillery Divisions. The operational BrahMos regiments are:
861 Regiment (BrahMos Block I, deployed in north Rajasthan area)
862 Regiment (BrahMos Block II, deployed in south Rajasthan area)
863 Regiment (BrahMos Block II)
864 Regiment (BrahMos Block III, deployed in Arunachal Pradesh area)

As far as the Air force is concerned, BrahMos air version to be tested before year-end and would be integrated and inducted by 2014. The purchase of over 200 air-launched BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles for the IAF was cleared by Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on 19 October 2012, at the cost of INR 6,000 crore (US$1 billion). This would include funds for the integration and testing of the BrahMos on Su-30MKI of the IAF. As per this plan, the first test of the air-launched version of the missile was to be conducted by December 2012. Two Su-30MKI of the IAF would be modified by the HAL at its Nashik facility where they will also be integrated with the missile's aerial launcher. A new, smaller variant of the air-launched BrahMos is also under development. This variant would arm the Sukhoi Su-30MKI, Mirage 2000, future inductions such as the 126 Dassault Rafale, and the Indian navy's MiG-29K.

1000 missiles is incorrect.

Just the Indian Army had 3000+ on order of Brahmos block i, ii & iii. That did not include steep dive Brahmos and other latest blocks.
Then there is Navy......and Air force to follow.....And mind it,these numbers are for public info only.....No one know what the true numbers look like.

means 3000 + will be around 10 B USD ... wow

India is so great, its installing Russian made missile on russian made warships and calling it indigenous Indian weapon.

The next step is to install the russian missile on French jets and once again call it indigenous Indian.

Pathetic.

India is so great, its installing Russian made missile on russian made warships and calling it indigenous Indian weapon.

Yes indeed it is inspired by P-800 Oniks missile, but BrahMos has been hell lot improved and developed by BrahMos Aerospace Limited in which India holds more stake than Russia and at the same time all of its 32 tests were carried on in India in the Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur and at Vishkhapatnam (submarine launched variant) by DRDO only and up till now it has been deployed in the Indian Navy and Army only.

And as far as the so called "Russian Warships" are concerned, kindly get your facts right before posting :-

Godavari-class frigate - Built by Mazagon Dock Limited, India
Brahmaputra-class frigate - Built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers, India
Delhi-class destroyer - Built by Mazagon Dock Limited, India
Shivalik-class frigate - Built by Mazagon Dock Limited, India
Kolkata-class destroyer - Built by Mazagon Dock Limited, India

Oh please, improved verion? Why arn't the Russian using this improved version? <--- you have yet to address this question. Its actually the only question that needs to be addressed since it refutes pretty much everything you seem to think.

India holds a greater stake, perhaps its got to do with the fact India pretty much funded this entire project? How upset would you be if the Russians didn't offer a cent a got a larger share of the company?

Ask yourself, which destroyers were 1st fitted with brahmos, they certainly weren't Indian ships.

I have already addressed the same if you can read my previous posts.... Nevermind here it comes again, BrahMos has solid propellant booster for the First stage Engine and for Second stage liquid-fueled ramjet is there, whereas P-800 has only a Ramjet Engine using kerosene liquid fuel #Better engine capability
Speed 3.0 mach, P-800 has only 2.5 mach #enhanced speed
Guidance system:- Mid-course guidance by INS and Terminal guidance by homing radar seeker Augmentation by GPS/GLONASS and further by IRNSS (2015-16) , P-800 has system active-passive, radar seeker head #more accurate guiding system
It has flight Flight altitude, sea-skimming, as low as 3-4 meters as compared to 5 meters or higher in P-800 # not easy to detect, can be used for for surgical strikes with out any collateral damage....
Can be launched from Ship, submarine, aircraft and land-based mobile launchers as compared to P-800 platform can only be launched from Fixed-wing aircraft, coastal installations and naval ships #much portable than P-800

#Although BrahMos primarily being an anti-ship missile, the BrahMos Block III can also engage land based targets. It can be launched either in a vertical or inclined position and is capable of covering targets over a 360 degree horizon. The BrahMos missile has an identical configuration for land, sea, and sub-sea platforms. The air-launched version has a smaller booster and additional tail fins for added stability during launch.

Russians funded 49.50% and India 50.50% I guess...

Ask yourself, which destroyers were 1st fitted with brahmos, they certainly weren't Indian ships.

Firstly BrahMos was deployed on Godavari-class and Brahmaputra-class frigate both in the year 2007 and as mentioned earlier:-

Godavari-class frigate - Built by Mazagon Dock Limited, India
Brahmaputra-class frigate - Built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers, India

Any more queries??????

We need some brahmos!

Since India and Iraq are exchanging oil they might aswell start some military relations aswell

Sorry dude. In this circumstances this is impossible to sell you.

Whys that. in the future though when the air force is up and running, if we have some Russian heavy fighters these cruise missiles could be used on it.

Now there are few chances of export because of huge domestic orders. Now America is dictating your every matter so as long as America is there may be India hesitate to give you this missile.

I think you are mentally challenged and still doesn't answer the key question.

IF Brahmos was more advanced, why don't the Russian use it? Answer: because its not.

I guess you are visually challenged that not even having a look at the previous posts......According to unspecified sources the BrahMos could be fitted to the updated Gorshkov class of frigates which will be entering the Russian Navy soon. The defence ministry reported that due to the size and hull specifications of the BrahMos, few if any of its new ships will be able to accommodate it.

BTW, here is something interesting for you.....

Well, in January 2008, Moscow forwarded an unsolicited note to the Indian government, after the issue was taken up suo moto by the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) in December 2007. In it, the hard truth, one that the mandarins who worked the BrahMos deal knew all about before the deal went through, but did nothing to sidestep it or account for it in any way. The note contained a line that runs as follows:

"The Russian Federation is constitutionally barred from inducting into operational commission any weapons or weapon systems that are not manufactured wholly by government controlled units or agencies under the Russian Federation and on Russian territory."

BTW are you so dumb that you consider BrahMos inferior to P-800 Oniks, and if you then please leave this thread for there is no point of discussion left with you further.....

Fourteen countries have already expressed interest in buying different modifications of a BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, CEO and Managing Director of the Russian-Indian joint venture BrahMos Aerospace A. Sivathanu Pillai told reporters on Tuesday.

“As far as I understand Russian authorities have nothing against such exports and the Indian government has final say,” he said, declining to disclose potential customers.

A. Sivathanu Pillai took part in BrahMos Industry Consortium Meet-2013, a conference devoted to public-private partnership in India’s defence industry, of which Brahmos Aerospace is a prime example.

India’s former president APJ Abdul Kalam expressed confidence that Russian and Indian governments should seize the opportunity to export BrahMos cruise missiles to other countries.

These cruise missiles with a range of 290 kilometers have already been put into service by India’s Ground Forces. India’s surface ships are equipped with BrahMos as well. Air-launched tests of these missiles should take place this year. Last March a submarine-launched version of the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile was successfully test-fired.

What are we waiting for....Lets setup additional facilities and fulfill our requirements fast and then export....
:sniper:

Because this missile dude is liar just like the person he replaced. I have been hearing about this sale for the last 10-12 years but not one missile has been exported. Just another scientist with verbal Diarrhoea. Anyone who wants the real deal since the last 15 years can buy it from Russia with ease. This below article was published in 2005

The Hindu : National : "India ready to export BrahMos"

India has finally cleared the high-tech supersonic cruise missile, BrahMos, and Chile could be among the first buyers.

"The export of military hardware is no longer an issue, and we have started exporting the BrahMos," Vice-Admiral Madanjit Singh, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, said on Thursday. He was addressing a seminar on "Navy-Industry Convergence: Challenges and Opportunities" here.

I beg your pardon!?

Godavari class (P16), equipped with Four P-20M (SS-N-2D Styx) AShMs, first ship commissioned on 10 December 1983, third in 1988 > 25-30 years old > too old to be cost-effectively refitted with Brahmos, let alone considering weight increase on the bow section if refitted from 4x 2300kg Styx to e.g. 8 Brahmos (at 3000 kg a pop)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godavari-class_frigate

Brahmaputra class (P16A), equipped with 4x4 3M-24E / Kh35 Uran AShMs, first ship commissioned 2000, third in 2005 > 8-13 years old. Why bother refitting a ship that is already equipped with modern AShMs?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brahmaputra-class_frigate

Besides, also considering the hull is a Leander derivative, using steam turbines, and the trouble experienced producing the P16A, it appears:
The older Brahmaputra class and Godavari class frigates will systematically be replaced one by one as the new classes of frigates are brought into service over the next decade.

5 ship Rajput class (mod Kashin II) commissioned 1980-1988, so is now 25-33 years old. INS Rajput served as the trials ship for the PJ-10 (BrahMos) cruise missile, with non-VL launchers (she also trialled Dhanush ballistic missile). Only INS Ranvijay was deployed with an updated vertical launcher for the BrahMos missile, again for testing.

Talwar class
batch 1:
In the main strike role, an eight-cell KBSM 3S14E vertical missile launcher is fitted, which accommodates the Klub-N ASCM. The Agat Research and Production Enterprise has supplied the 3R14N-11356 shipborne fire-control system associated with Klub-N. Jane's Defence Weekly reported in April 2004, that IN sources indicated that INS Tabar would be the first vessel in the Talwar series to be armed with the supersonic BrahMos (PJ-10) ASCM, which DRDO of India and NPO Mashinostroyeniya of Russia, have co-developed. The other two vessels (Talwar and Trishul) will also subsequently be equipped with the BrahMos ASCM
batch II:
the supersonic Brahmos (PJ-10) ASCM is expected to be fitted in an eight-cell configuration.

n the main strike role, an eight-cell 3S14E vertical missile launcher is fitted, which accommodates the 3M-54E Klub-N anti-ship missile developed by the Novator Design Bureau. The Agat Research and Production Enterprise has supplied the 3R14N-11356 shipborne fire-control system associated with the Klub-N. The 3M-54E Klub is an 8.22 metres (27.0 ft) long missile using active radar guidance with a range of 220 kilometres (140 mi). It is a three-stage missile in which the terminal stage reaches supersonic velocity (Mach 2.9) when it is approximately 20 km (12 mi) from its target.
The follow-on order of INS Teg, Tarkash and Trikand are fitted with the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile, which has a range of 300 kilometres (190 mi) and moves with the velocity of Mach 3 throughout its flight.

Delhi-class (P15) destroyer is fitted with 4x4 3M-24E (Kh-35 Uran or NATO: SS-N-25 Switchblade) AShMs, housed in four quadruple KT-184 launchers. This is a relatively modern missile, equivalent to Harpoon Block 1C. Going to Brahmos would reduce the antishipping fire power (
