Its irony to see that Western people are actually lecturing others on how its bad or wrong ,and in their own society Daughters been sexually Assaulted by Fathers , mother/Son Relationship , Brothers spying and jerking off to their sisters and what not ...

check out the Sexually assaulted cases in west and a high number of such cases involved a Relative..

If they don't feel it wrong they have right from their Country law and religion .. as far as they don't get married in underage ... and too much make-up for the girl, maybe a failed effort to make the girl look a bit older than her actual age ..

I remember at the age of 7 i was made groom in the school tableau. Bride was little girl of almost same age. But she kept on crying while sitting in the doli. I have no idea why is that so. May be she was in shock or something.

I'm so glad even my grandparents were from two different ethnicities. Same with my parents. I will make sure my future kids never marry their first cousin. Cousin marriages are a great way to destroy your next generation and turn them into brain dead zombies easy to manipulate too. We can see the side effects of such practices in muslim countries.

A 12-year-old boy will marry his cousin, 11, after the boy’s Egyptian father announced the shock engagement and gave his blessing.

While celebrating his eldest son’s wedding, Nasser Hassan ‘doubled the joy’ by announcing the engagement of the two schoolchildren.
But the father’s blessing has caused outrage in Egypt where it is illegal to marry under the age of 18, according to the Washington post.

Hassan told Egypt’s Al Watan newspaper there was ‘nothing inappropriate’ about the coupling of Omar, 12 and Gharam, 11, adding it was only ‘an engagement’.

The wedding of the eldest brother was held 75 miles north of Cairo, but guests allegedly didn’t bat an eyelid after hearing the highly unusual news.

Reda Eldanbouki, the head of the Women’s Center for Legal Aid and Counseling, brought it to the attention of the National Center for Childhood and Motherhood.

He also filed a complaint to the attorney general, calling it a ‘crime’.

‘[It] will only lead to an early marriage in which the girl will be deprived of equal chances to education, growth, and will isolate her from social spheres,’ he added.

But the father said he ‘is a free man and did nothing wrong’, and the couple will not marry until they are of legal age.

‘Omar has always loved Gharam so much that he used to say he will marry her when they grow up before any other man asks for her hand in marriage when she is older,’ he said.

Ugh! Betrothing kids at such age + them being cousins (I assume first)...just disgusts me. And that make up on the poor girl!

In Pakistan out of 10 .. 8 marriages are cousin marriages

8 out of 10? Are you serious?

In Pakistan out of 10 .. 8 marriages are cousin marriages...

Grossly exaggerated.

Par saaday tay o v na hai .:cry:

:)

The only cousin marriage that I have witnessed in my life was of my friend. Sadly, his first child is not normal and the doctors say it is because of cousin marriage. Other than that, I haven't encountered any cousin marriage.

May be I am from Karachi and it is more prevalent in northern Pakistan.

Just give a chance we would be prove best cousins
Your 47.. She's 20.. Apki beti ki age ki ha.. Cradle robber.

The fuss is.... hmara kisi ko pta nahi k jawan ho gay..:cry:

@I S I Hence proved.. father's decision is right :D

Jawan Ho gai? Damn you too frustrated lady.. Get a grip or something.

Whats wrong with these people? A cousin is your own sister for heavens sake. This is not marriage. This is incest.
Dude you guys marry your nieces for fuk sakes... Not to forget other fuked up practices..

UK Pakistanis hardly do it now. I saw a survey in the Eastern Eye about it. I can't remember going to a cousin wedding in the last five years, and I have attended at 10 weddings. Most young folks find their own spouse now.

Depends which part of UK as well I suppose. Are you by any chance a resident in London? When I was in UK (Midlands and North West) for university studies there were a lot of cousin marriages going on especially amongst people from Yorkshire (Bradford, Halifax etc). However Pakistanis from London struck me as more up do date and better educated during my time in the UK, than the kin up north.

That's not good. It's ok if it's a one off, but what happens when the children's parents are also related o_O.
There are 200 million Pakistanis, I thought by now they would have mixed far more readily.
The mental disorder and all other affects occur mostly in "first cousin marriage" and not in far off related cousin.... So chill out
