Chandigarh: At least 12 dreaded terrorists belonging to the 'Babbar Khalsa' militant outfithave managed to enter Punjab to carry out terror attacks in the northern parts of India, intelligence agencies have warned on Thursday.
According to News18, a high alert has been sounded and the Punjab Police have stepped up vigil in and around vital installations across the .
The warning came following the interrogation of suspected terrorist Kamaldeep Singh, who was arrested on October 23 from Punjab.
Kamaldeep, a resident of Kashmir, had revealed that 12 highly trained Babbar Khalsa terrorists have slipped into the Indian side for terror activities.
He also claimed that all of them were trained in Pakistan and are heavily armed.
Sources in the police department said that the terrorists entered to disrupt the poll related activities in the state.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Director General of Police had an urgent meeting with the senior police officials and asked them to launch massive search operations in the state and bordering area.
