What's new

12,568 MW electricity to be added to national grid by 2018

Things are changing pretty consistently. We have New projects being announced and / or achieving financial closure almost every quarter.. they are usually wind based but something is better than nothing.
The big news is Engro has started feasibility study for a second set of 600mw (300 x 2) power plant at thar. hopefully they will announce this within a yr as well. The piling work for the first two power plants is being done.
Future for pakistan will be ensured at two places... at thar (coal based) and in the northern areas (bhasha... munda etc)

I have Pictures of like 20 Under Construction Power Projects + Transmission lines :D :D should i make you more Optimistic :D
hahah i think you also run the page Developing Pakistan....
i daily go through the posts of that page and comments....

. .
Obviously it would.N league would have a safe side and a honey trap for this nation to capture the votes. And this nation besides learning a lesson would again elect them.Pathetic we !!:frown:
This is all speculation right. I really don't think they will ever be able to do that and the shameless traitor NS is already planning to be dismissed by army so that he can claim that he has not allowed to work and complete the projects but what I see is that PMLn won't be allowed to run in election as it is. Most of its leaders will be disqualitied.

Yupe that's Me :D :D
i always have the feeling that only Omar bhae can have all this stuff ....so i was spot on...
keep it up...
i took pictures from your posts and showed my students of Masters ...............and they all said.....Sir g ap noooon leeeegi ho gye:offpost:

.
yet another carrot dangled by the corrupt politicians and the people going wild over it.....to bring these plans to fruition we need competent leaders whereas all we have now is a stagnant pool of rejected leaders......plus who's to say that the generated power wouldn't be stolen in sindh and balochistan??

Nandipur 470 MW
Sapphire Wind Power Plant 58.6 MW
Quaid e Azam Solar Power Plant 400 MW (recently Completed)

Can you send me those dpic and details, especially about transmission lines and i am also interested on updates on HVDC line from matiari to nankan a sahib.

Why we don't have consistency in Power generation ? i mean' Yes it occur's all over the world. but in 1000's of Mw's ?

just asking for "information purpose" :-)

Well i don't know much about that but main factors are IPP's that produce less power according to their Plant Capacity... Power by Hydel Also varies

Even Pak start to produce 10000000 GW it will not solve power crisis.
People has to live with Load-Shedding for next 20 to 30 years in Pak.

Sir u might not well understood the Pak power crisis. If u have back ground of Power Engineering than my be u understand causes of Pak power crisis. Most of News reporter are not well educated to file news stories on Power crisis.
Do u know, Y Pak has Load-Shedding? I really appreciate ur efforts to highlights the beautiful tomorrow of Pak. However as u gave time to it than it would be better if u understand the problem.

Establishing more generation capacity and tapping into indigenous hydrocarbon reserves will do little to ease the energy crisis if resources continue to be used inefficiently and wastefully.
Three big factors that r behind power crisis
(1) Less qualified Human resources.
(2) Theft of energy
(3) Transmission jumble demand 160 billion $ investment.

Energy can be created not only by increasing supply, but also by repairing poorly maintained generation plants and dysfunctional T&D systems

A new report reveals why Pakistanis may have to live with the energy shortfall for decades, if not more. —Creative commons
Poor governance, incompetence, lack of transparency, distribution and transmission losses (a euphemism for theft), have made powering Pakistan a transMission Impossible.

A recently released book by the Woodrow Wilson International Centre for Scholars (Wilson Center) reviews the energy crisis in Pakistan and raises the question if there is a way out of Pakistan’s endless energy crisis?

real question is how much gov added in last 3 years ?

Question will be how much time a professional take to build and electricity production unit and the answer is

Coal based 3 to 4 years (Planning not included)
Furnace and gas based 3 to 4 years (Planning not included)
Nuclear 5 to 7 years (Planning not included)
Dams and Reservoirs 10 to 14 years (Planning not included)
Solar and Wind energy (2 to 7 years depend upon scale)

Sir issue is, no one is interested to solve the power crisis, every one want to make money.

Neelum–Jhelum Hydropower Plant is not a big project , Pak has all the feasibility reports ready by year 2000. Its still under construction since 2008 due to corruption and lazy Chines engineers as Pak dont have engineers to build it. Now they r saying project will be complete in 2017. No where in the world 900 MW project took 9 years after feasibility reports
In the mean while India has made 3 big full scale power stations in Kashmir in less than 6 years.

n 2007, India began construction on a run-of-the-river power station on the Kishanganga (Neelum) River upstream of the Neelum–Jhelum Dam. The Kishanganga Hydroelectric Plant operates in a similar sense as the Neelum–Jhelum, using a dam to divert the Kishanganga (Neelum) River to a power station before it is discharged into Wular Lake which is fed by the Jhelum River. The Kishanganga Project will divert a portion of the Neelum River from Pakistan which will reduce power generation at the Neelum–Jhelum Hydropower Plant. India states the project will divert 10 percent of the river's flow while other estimates stand as high as 33 percent.
