11 profitable entities shortlisted for sell-off

Over the years, I been reading pdf posters views on subject. Now I will express my opinion. NO one wants to buy loss making businesses. Would you, buy a shop that has no customers?

Profitable companies will sell quickly. Pakistanis need to think realisticly.
If the owner is Govt. then even loss making entities have huge customer base for example public sector banks in India, besides if it is profitable why would the Govt sell it ?They can change the management with technocrats and try and improve it.
This move seems to be a clear indication of IMF demands being fulfilled at one step at a time.

There is no guarantee that buyer of these entities keep them at the same size and continue operation as he may liquidate such entity later or use it to borrow loan for investing in any new business which will lead to end of operation of these companies and is not in interest of nation.Govt should focus on making them profitable and make them independent like in western democratic countries if democracy continues here in Pakistan
true but why would they if its majing profits ?
Lot of time there is only 25% share privitzed thus making liquidifcation impossible as happened in ptcl

Loss making entites like air india was put to sale several tmes...didnt work
The reason to sell off even profit making institute is to keep on the toes so that they keep making profits and improve their performance

who will buy unprofitable entity ?
Noone..

Very strange. They are privatizing profitable entities while no plans to drop PIA and Steel Mills.
I can't see [I said this at the point this government resumed power] PIA or PS being privatized in the tenure of this government. The problem is this government is a coalition. MQM are one of the components and PIA is in Karachi. Privitizing it would send the vested interests scuppering to yank their political connections in MQM and that would endanger the government.

I think if this government wins a second term then PIA and rest will be sliced and diced. This is what PM Margaret Thatcher did in UK in 1980s. Step by step chopped the public sector down ...

Is it true among working class Brits Thatcher is despised for closing the coal mines and giving the railways to private companies

to save them to become lose making enterprises in future.

As a matter of principle Gov should not involve in business activities and should restrict herself only to policy making and regulator roles
INSTEAD OF FOCUSING ON LOSS MAKING ENTITIES GOING AFTER THE PROFITABLE ONES IS SHAMEFUL.
