11 Numbers Showing India Has a Long Way to Go to Become the Next China

It may take longer time than China. But India has all the ingredients to become the next economic power
indias real challenge is from asean.india must attracting enough investments and set up its industrial chains ahead of economic integration of asean plus 3. or india must wait for another massive industrial transfer

.
to maintain a large stable employment you need to have a huge manufacturing industry which in turn needs a huge skilled workforce , advanced infrastructure and energy supply .those supporting factors can't be achieved overnight,it takes decades to get.

.
Fundamental essence for the growth of a economy is you have to have a good employment rate and a skilled
work force
Why is it hard to understand? Size of population is secondary to a vibrant highly trained and qualified workforce.

On the net
Dont talk to me about India's official employment rate because some segments like the "babas" or "yogis' are not counted as unemployed. And there are tens of millions of thes people in India. Am I right?

Now you are assuming a lot. India has a vibrant highly trained and qualified workforce all be it in smaller scale but growing rapidly. How do you think Indians sent a craft to Mars? Education is assuming a lot more importance than it was before.

Large population is a prerequisite to benefit from demographic dividend. Can Maldives ever benefit from demographic dividend? Even if all the Maldives population is Harvard educated.

As on India's official data, you have to believe. Don't you believe in Chinese official data even though Chinese official data is the most controversial of all.

.
Is it on topic? Our female tourists are safe. But I must admit that the way nowaday girls wearing could lead to that issue.

So you get ho**y whenever you see a woman dressed as she wishes? It seems you are not just an ineffective China-hater, you are morally corrupt, as well.

The interesting thing about our Indian neighbors is that while many of them harbor delusions of being a superpower, almost none of them, no even the most nationalistic, believes they are on par with China. Which is a logically contradictory set of beliefs to hold because China is not a superpower.

Anyway, the road to greatness requires less pondering and more doing. When you are running a sprint race, you should focus on the finish line. Peering into your neighbor's lane to see how they're doing will only slow you down.

That's the gist of the matter, really? India wants to be a superpower by beating China. On the other, China is not a superpower but the largest developing economy. Perhaps Indians should take the US or Britain as their next target because China is way behind the point their dreams reach.

I agree....8% growth rate would do wonders in attracting lot of new investment. Most international institutions are bullish on India's economic growth rate.

Most data come from official sources, because only governments have the capacity to collect data across a nation

Maldives can reap "demographic dividends" if they have a vibrant workforce which would give them a high per capita income if they are not limited by natural resources. Just a small populated Singapore can defeat your argument about a direct correlation between "size of population" and "per capita income"

You havent answer me - are Yogis and Babas counted as employed or unemployed in India

All the statistics like international trade figures, Fx reserves, no of companies on "500" list, no of supercomputers in world, amount of holding in US bonds, sports awards, ranking of universities, foreign investments, personal wealth, tourists spending, luxury goods consumptions, car produced ...Now tell me which are these figures faked? Just for China to get excelled over India? Come on!

The main advantage is India is a very large market next only to China.

Only if your people have spare money (disposable income) to spend on relevant goods

What you described is not demographic dividend. You can check it on Google

Anywhere in the world unemployed means people who are looking actively for work. If Yogis and Babas are actively looking for work then they are unemployed.

India too has large Fx reserves, no of companies on "500" list, no of supercomputers in world, amount of holding in US bonds, sports awards, ranking of universities, foreign investments, personal wealth tourists spending, luxury good consumptions, car produced....May not be on Chinese scale, but certainly impressive. After all we are behind Chinese in the size of economy. With good growth rate, Indian economy will expand so will all the parameters you have listed above

Only if your people have spare money (disposable income) to spend on relevant goods

You have no idea what Indians are buying these days. You seem stuck in 1990's of India

Just today, one of their major media outlests was claming to have overtaken China in GDP,
Your comprehension is at a pathetic level. Your ignorance is mind blowing like your understanding of the English language. I know it's a foreign language where you are concerned but learn to read with a little more diligence.

It doesn't sat GDP, it says, GDP growth rate!! Do you see the difference? So your laughing smiley has made you look pretty silly. :P
