11 Numbers Showing India Has a Long Way to Go to Become the Next China

Dude how can a dumb person like you can get title of "Think Tank Analyst", Was there any lucky draw or something?
In my above post i already said.... Our population is 5 times bigger than and also huge land area, our last year export was equal to total GDP of your country and if still guys like you can talk shyt like Pakistan is powerful than India, it can beat India and things like that. Why we with equal population to China can think same?? Did you get it Mr. Think Tank Analyst ?

He is correct that India is often compare with Pakistan and bracket with
Pakistan, which has 20% the population of India. Yes, India exports more. But per capita wise, it's similar. Indian social problems is different but just as bad. So don't think for a minute that India is superior to Pakistan.

India should keep growing at 8-9% for the next 20 years, give it's infrastructure and manufacturing sector a great push and we will be fine. India doesn't and cannot be China, we are a democracy and things move slowly here and I don't think we will give that up even for a 20% growth rate or 100 trillion $ foreign exchange reserves

Another day dreaming "India will" post. People brag about their accomplishments. India is the only one that brag about what it can do. Unfortunately, India is notorious for its failures.

Indians calm down and absorb this reality, u are going nowehre at the moment. No comparison with china and in many aspects not with pakistan either.

Once u face facts ,try working on things from ground up.

Maldives can reap "demographic dividends" if they have a vibrant workforce which would give them a high per capita income if they are not limited by natural resources. Just a small populated Singapore can defeat your argument about a direct correlation between "size of population" and "per capita income"

You havent answer me - are Yogis and Babas counted as employed or unemployed in India

All the statistics like international trade figures, Fx reserves, no of companies on "500" list, no of supercomputers in world, amount of holding in US bonds, sports awards, ranking of universities, foreign investments, personal wealth, tourists spending, luxury goods consumptions, car produced ...Now tell me which are these figures faked? Just for China to get excelled over India? Come on!

Tourism jobs are some of the lowest paying jobs in the world. I was in Florida two weeks ago visiting a friend who works in the tourism industry. He told me It pays like shit and he had to find another job because the job only employ him part time.

The good paying jobs are manufacturing and high tech jobs.

The full list of the Human Capital index is here.
As I said before Sri Lanka is ranked 60th and China is ranked 64th among
124 countries.
And Switzerland is 3rd:yahoo:
Human Capital Report 2015 - Reports - World Economic Forum

Simple maths, country with more people will take more time and resources to develop. China population is 65 times bigger than Sri Lanka, 1.3 billon vs 21 million.

Fair comparison can only be made with country of similar population. To get a gauge of China, look at India, its ranked 100. Sri Lanka compares with Malaysia.

Try and read again slowly what I wrote, I wrote 'India should' and not 'India will', don't read with your head filled with bias and hate this is what happens then

The fact that it's a Pakistani who's opened this thread that is to note. As someone once said- it takes only half as long to make yourself stronger than to wait for your adversary to fail.

11 Numbers Showing India Has a Long Way to Go to Become the Next China

With a charismatic, new leader and the world’s strongest economic expansion, India seems at last to be coming out of the shadow of its big neighbor to the north, China.

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to China this week is an attempt to demonstrate the South Asian nation’s new confidence and let the world know that India is following in China’s footsteps to become an important global power.

“The re-emergence of India and China and their relationship will have a profound impact on the two countries and the course of this century,” Mr. Modi said in a speech in Beijing on Friday. “Our relationship has been complex in recent decades. But, we have a historic responsibility to turn this relationship into a source of strength for each other and a force of good for the world.”

While it is true that India’s economic growth has surpassed China’s in recent quarters, a quick glance at even the most basic economic indicators show how far India’s economy has to go.

    AM-BJ042A_CHIND_G_20150515052412.jpg

China’s GDP is almost five times the size of India’s. In fact, its exports in 2013 alone were bigger than India’s entire economy. China’s GDP per capita was around $6,800 that year while India’s was less than $1,500.

Around 10 times more cars are sold in China than in India annually and China has 25% more mobile phone subscribers. India loses on other indicators as well such as power and road infrastructure and the number of toilets.

While India’s diverse and vibrant democracy will continue to dictate and sometimes delay the pace of its march to development, the country understands it could learn a few lessons from China’s success.

Mr. Modi will need some more magic tricks if he ever wants India’s economy to become as large as China’s. At the current rate of economic expansion, that would take 78 years.

Corrections: A previous version of the graphic in the post mislabeled the amount of remittances received in China and India.

:lol:Just messing with you. I love Switzerland, but mostly your chocolate.
A friend of mine visited Norway and he told me that everything is more expansive than in Switzerland
and the weather in Switzerland is also better.8-)

.
Good, and where is India?
I dont really care because I live in Switzerland:D
But its interesting that Sri Lanka has done better than China.
Pakistan also has a much smaller population than India but India has still
a higher GDP per capita, higher literacy rate and higher HDI than Pakistan.
So the size of the population does not always matter.

.
oUT OF THOSE 11, iNDIAN gdp IN lAST QUARTER IS 7.5% AGAINST 7.0 CHINA. (India leads) Mobile phones sale -China is marginally ahead. Foreign remitance - India is ahead. So it is not 11 but 8 parameters and not 11.
