Apart from Baloch.. the biggest group of hopefuls were hazaras...

The only relaxation boys from under developed areas like Tharparkar,FATA,Rural Balochostan (if they have studied in local schools in places like Awaran or Kohan) is 5% relaxation in FSC.

The closest thing was recruitment of soldiers from Balochistan and FATA.. relaxations were given to include ppl in the national mainstream.

i went to ISSB this year there is relaxation for them
selection criteria is a bit lenient in ISSB quetta as compared to kohat which has the toughest competition
similarly, fata guys get ISSB guideline directly from serving army officers in preparation camps while we are discouraged to join any academy/coaching

I think he relaxed rules for Baloch... as someone said.. these recruits/officers will influence their family by projecting nationalist views.. then they influence their friends and cousins... etc etc so one cadet can influence 10 peopel directly ad 100 indirectly a big change will come in 10 years.. insha Allah positive one

I see. I hope it does not undermine the merit in a major way. This relaxation is good for integration though.

I disagree. ISSB never lowers the merit for the quota sake. army wont risk it for paramilitary and non commissioned cadre let alone for the future officers. I know here I am contradicting my initial comment you just quoted, it was just thinking loud due to high number of just one tribe. but it can happen if these guys were picked up from a cadet college Khuzdar so in a way already prepped for a military discipline life style

just a case in point.


I studied with Ali Rauf Magsi during mid 80s in Quetta FG school. , he himself was a son of an Army officer and both of them were never lacking in merit and proficiency that is common for the rest of the army officers
