What I am hearing is Payment not a issue but our structure for them is not ready yet but soon will be completedHanded over but in storage pending outstanding payments I believe.
Also possible PA may want them all shipped in one go.
Despite restrictions US tech has so far no match in the world in most cases, the hell fire we may get if transaction is completed shall be of much worth in case of general defense ( especially for specific attacks on terrorist hide outs).Sell these to any country in North America or South America and get money , add to DAM fund
These 10 units won't make much difference
These choppers are expandable if we attain them sell them if the indeed arrived
If we can recover 800-900 Million from these chopper sale Pakistan would appreciate getting money back
@Oscar or anyone else, will these AH-1Zs be primarily used for COIN or they are for more conventional purposes vis-a-vis india? What kind of "boost" are we looking at with these new additions?
We are operating Cobras since ages and I am 100% structure is not the problem, they are storing our helos in storage places. What I am hearing is Payment not a issue but our structure for them is not ready yet but soon will be completed
We are creating new in Multan and one other spot those are not completed yetWe are operating Cobras since ages and I am 100% structure is not the problem, they are storing our helos in storage places.
Trump want us to pay with our money not FMF and in that case these helos are super expensive.
Us stopped deliveries and ask made payment with your own money not with FMF.We are creating new in Multan and one other spot those are not completed yet
No delievery has been stoppedUs stopped deliveries and ask made payment with your own money not with FMF.
Yes stopped, all helos sent in different storage facilities in US.No delievery has been stopped
High-intensity COIN operations in Pakistan are winding down, terrorists no longer control the heights and the villages below, so usage of attack helicopters in FATA has almost ceased.
COIN has moved to low-intensity IBO/combing type operations, where you rarely need gunship support. With Mi-35M inducted, PA can insert troops while providing suppressive fire.
WoT sucked the life out of AH-1F Cobras, the Americans were aware these won't last long, so they allowed sale of 15x AH-1Z to Pakistan along with 1000x AGM-114R Hellfire missiles. That was 2015, now PA has achieved great success against terrorists, I believe attack helicopters should return to their original role, i.e., anti-tank.
There are 3 attack helicopter squadrons in PAA, operating a mix of AH-1F Cobras and JetRangers. The AH-1Z's are to be stationed in Multan, and probably the T129B ATAK's as well.
Each AH-1Z will carry 16x AGM-114R Hellfire missiles, which is a massive ATGM payload. For self defence, a couple of AIM-9 Sidewinder's can be loaded as well.
Personally, I would like a new attack helicopter squadron raised in Sindh, in support of the Karachi-based Mechanized Division. Buying 8 more Mi-35M wouldn't be a bad idea.
It would be stupid to store our helicopters in U.S. for such a reason. I don't think this is the reason. Besides U.S. isn't so generous to store it for us if delivery is delayed from our end. They would charge us for the storage aswell. They were charging us for storing F-16's even though they were stopped by U.S. govt. We can only be sure we are getting them once they land in Pakistan. We are creating new in Multan and one other spot those are not completed yet
i doubt it..congress is everything..and we have lost in congressI hope with New Govt things will get back to normal and better. David Hale gone with very good note and I think his brief back home put Gen Dunsford along with pompeo . If Mattis comes it would be very good means whole American establishment is here in Pak.Trump he is nobody.
We will get our Helis along with other goodies things will better after these visits.
