What's new

1,500km Babur II under Development, also SL Babur progress.

Turbo Engine .....

Now may be make your point?

Sorry .. I thought you would have answered your own question. Will Babur II use the same engine as Babur I? If not then which country do you think supplies these engines to Pakistan today. If your answer is that they are locally manufactured then I will go back to the drunk Balochistan CM's thread.

It won't be.

Super sonic missiles aren't that good. india imports them from Russia ...it serves their needs well.. But for Pakistan , we don't need super-sonic cruise missiles as of now. We need nuclear-tipped cruise missiles that are stealthy , and can hit cities like Mumbai , Delhi etc ...

1500 km range is a very good range , if true....

Missiles are not stealthy. They have heat signature or explain otherwise

. .
Good news. Terrain hugging cruise missile is great threat for enemy. And this is good that previous babur was tested from Multitube launcher which is more headache for the enemy. Range is also increasing with time. I.e 500Km then 700Km and ~1000Km. Now next test is 1500Km cruise missile.

Srry Indians were telling me Akash SAM can take out Babur... But then I saw facts, Akash can only take out targest that are higher in the air than 22 m. Babur flies at 2 m above ground level, practically ground flying... India is sitting duck for Babur, and it's even worse now cuz Babur has multi-tube launcher

Doesn't it travel underground ??. That will take out AKASH and various SAM's capability altogether :) .Also if you launch missile in a plane line just 2 metres above ground rather than ellipse it will get stuck in traffic jams

Terrain hugging feature of missile in used in last phase when it is near the target otherwise in whole way missile follows the normal path.so what will u do if it gets destroyed b4 last phase ?? :D

and no missile is stealthy. This concept is flawed and misunderstood like terrain hugging

Why do you think Pakistan recently created NSFC?
Naval strategic force command?
Pakistan navy in public eyes has no nuclear strategic capabilities, then why create a strategic command which was publicly declared as custodians of Pakistan's sea based second strike capability.
Thats much more than day dreaming.

That command still has a long way to go.
All these capabilities are more than five away.
No matter what the rumours..

I suggest you read about the Tomahawk first before making that statement.

How about your concept is flawed...:D we dont need your comments here..Go to some other thread:D

That would mean Pakistan has invented a new type of missile called the "Hover missile"

That 2m is a bit of an exaggeration.. since then Babur would be hitting every tree , bush and milkcart :alcoholic:

But that does not take away from the fact that the Babur flies very close to the standard tree top height of 15-20m.(depending upon the terrain and parameters programmed into the missile before launch).
Taking radar constraints into account.. that does make it difficult for it to be targeted at any point except very close to an emitting source(radar)..
However.. due to the fact that the missle is subsonic , it is easy prey for a AAA barrage guided by a combined radar/optical system .. and would be a cake walk to destroy for a system like the Tor or Panstsir...

I mentioned earlier that even the mighty eurofighter still being armed with subsonic cruise missile Taurus...
If the missiles were that easy to destroy, the europeans must have come up with a better thing to proudly display as marketing gimmick alongside their cherished fighter jet...?

That brings the question how much for each terrain?

In Indo-Paksitan scenario the extremes of terrain (uneven and even) are desert terrain and mountainous region of Kashmir.

For the Thar desert 15-20 should be more than enough.

For the mountainous regions, 50m is safe i guess.

Also i wondering is Babur would be used for SEAD roles against Long range SAM like Tomahawk is used.

When appropriate defences are in place.. and conditions are met.
for eg.
A tomahawk may get through all these defences if it comes out from behind a hill or otherwise..
That would give defensive system little time to react.
But if a patrolling AEW systems picks up the missle.. it can direct AD systems to be alert.. or even direct fighters to attack it.
The R-77 is perfectly capable of engaging cruise missiles.

Even after supersonic and current development of hypersonic. India is trying very hard to make subsonic Nirbhay cruise missile.:bunny:
