am not trying to underestimate anyone.....
am also happy to see if our soldiers are equiped the same way US soldiers... Digital camo, kelvar BPJ,nice sunglass,Head mount display......
but we cant transform in to that level in one shot.... i will give the priority as follows
1:BPJ and...
see i didnt understant what void you are pointing at.....
army is using the INSAS effectively and it is enough to tackle any war situations and in CI ops we are using Tavors as well AK variants...
i think we do have time to wait till DRDO comes up with new rifle as part of F-INSAS
see in F-INSAS program we will equip with latest rifle ..
but what my point here is these rifle would be designed by DRDO and manufactured by OFB... and these rifle will be based on present INSAS...
am against people who are sying buy k11 from korea and m4 from US......
^^ and you know other rifles are certified to work in these conditions..... ?
see problems are in everywhere... these situations that faced in kargil was resolved and army is using INSAS ....
devellopment of Su 30 has nothing to do with Tejas.. we started in house production of su 30 at around 2001-2002 by the time we already had made the first flight of tejas
Go easy with your comments.......
of course our ground forces need the best..... so what you want to do .. shutdown our OFB and DRDO... buy everything from US or other europeans....?
see whether you agree or not our economy is not at all in shape to buy the assault rifles that posted in...
the main reason why we need to have locally produced Assault rifle is nothing but for mass production so we dont have any situation such as attrition of rifles during war....
and your comments against INSAS is completely baseless.. yes there was some issues during kargil... but it has...
do u have any idea abt the unit cost of k11... it touches around 12000$ ...
our country is not in a position to spend billions only for assault rifles...
me also agree with u some points... but INSAS is not designed for CI operations... thats the reason we are widely using Tavors as well different versions of AK in kashmir as well North east.....
INSAS meant for its accuracy that is heavly required for infantry soldier in battlefield...
i dont think we are in that maturity level for earning money through Export....
we will do some export... for eg: like we done for Dhruv to our friendly countries and for making relation stronger......
but as a business we are long way to go....
first of all INSAS is not obsolete .... it is specifically designed for our needs.... we clearly cant afford to buy assault rifle for our million strength army....
^^ from many pics of jawans from kashmir we can see that they all equiped with BPJ.. but point here is it is not light weight.....
But if you see the recent pics from any war exercise... they are not at all using BPJ as well patkas.... my point is we should reach in a level that our 1...
first of all our foot soldiers are most ignored amongs all tri services... but these all are the people who brings glory during war.....
my priority lsit will be
1:Light weight BPJ and helmets
2:quality shelters in border areas...
3: need to give proper break to the jawans especially...
