War is not only AESA radar on the nose of the Fighter... there are others like satellite , AWACS etc... the ultimate need is AESA technology so that we can develop on our own.. Rafale provides the technology from the first batch.. while EFT we cant expect .. there could be delays..

I doubt 12 su's can operate from INS Vikramaditya... it is way small... even the carrier which operated 19 SU-33's is planned carrying more than 28 Migs secondly Su-33 needed lot of upgrades to bring to Mig-29K ... which costed more..

What ever runway configurations it is.. The number of Aircraft on top of the carrier as well as inside will be limited based on the displacement...

Displacement decides the propulsion needed along with the ship body design... You cant have more heavy aircraft on the carrier which have less displacement.. the propulsion for that will not work.. the ship will stand still even though if you have big runway...
