    World's most mass produced tanks

USSR maintained superiority during whole Cold War period not only in numbers, but on technical characteristics of tanks. Now situation is a bit different... But not worse. Future of course is more brilliant. By 2020 structure of US forces (the closest in numbers) will remain of about 2000 M1A2...

Gaza rockets penetrate Israeli defense system due to Iron Dome malfunction

Tor is versatile system with role varying with battery configuration. It can perform among others, similar role with much higher effectiveness and at much less expense.

Gaza rockets penetrate Israeli defense system due to Iron Dome malfunction

There is nothing with "no analogues" in Iron Dome, maybe horrible cost-effectiveness, but not really in technical characteristics. It is not the only system which can perform that role, neither the best. A Tor battery, for example, is more effective in both ways.

Iron Dome scored 90% plus kill rate in recent combat firings

I actually think that Rafael´s attempts to market Iron Dome, have a very weak base. System serves for little more than psychological effect. It can be usefull for example if it intercepts 1 or 2 rockets heading towards a populated area which would otherwise create terror effect among the...

Iron Dome scored 90% plus kill rate in recent combat firings

Exactly You did not undestood? That is what I said. Because these home made rockets are so innacurate, a very reduced amount will cause a marginal effect. System will designate those few, so how many intercepts? two rockets of an entire battery? Result claim is 100 % success. Hell of a...

Iron Dome scored 90% plus kill rate in recent combat firings

I like how they manipulate statistics. They claim this system will give protection, and cost effectiveness, clearly will not. And why? This is intended against casual launches of primitive rockets, used for terror. Cost difference between them and Iron Dome interceptor is ridiculous. Their...

Iran is developing system similar to S-300

Redut complex (ship based) uses S-400 family missiles. Current SM-3 missile is not worth of comparison, in what missile design is referred. Despite being larger and having a much higher ceiling, it is capable only to intercept medium range missiles (25000+ Km range, doubtful against new)...

Russia's new Fire and forget missile Kornet-EM

Read again my posts, if still not understand, I´m will not argue this more. Not all thermals. Prove? I proved already. You have to understand how carefully you need to designate to a seeker, besides, that statement was not made up by me. So still no proof? statement, video? then all clear...

Russia's new Fire and forget missile Kornet-EM

Read my earlier posts. Weather alone cannot disrupt thermal vision. Beacause you want to . Seekers installed on missiles are low cost intended for single use. They are all bad quality which need a clear designation. You have played absurd already. Time to shift to a more serious tone...

Russia's new Fire and forget missile Kornet-EM

Depends on fog density, and camera quality. Spike seeker will distinguish sh$t. Kornet-MR does not exist. By what conclusion  Seeker does not see while climbing. By the time it sees, Target is in another position, even if not much, seeker needs a clear designation to aquire, and even so...

Russia's new Fire and forget missile Kornet-EM

You can use them with effectiveness. Active seekers are way worse in bad weather. Kornet now does not exist for you? From 2.5 km? And those missiles do not travel directly, they spend most of the time climbing to the top, then slow, and and go down afterwards. Process is too long for a seekr...

Russia's new Fire and forget missile Kornet-EM

You look like obsessed with that, it is you, not me?. Kornet-MR is light and portable as Metis. You proved nothing. You showed two videos, on one target was static, on the other the same but Spike was TV guided, not fire & forget. There are more Metis-M produced than Spike. No army will...

Russia's new Fire and forget missile Kornet-EM

I am not who is arguing with officiall statements, and what is more ridicolous, thermal vision concept because he claims to have "played" with something once. You left Kornet out. Neither Spike nor Javelin can engage moving targets in lofted trajectory mode, or in fire and forget. No...

Russia Surprised by Iranian S-300 Legal Complaint

It´s you who does not understand, even unable to read properly: From the Register´s terminology: S-300 is not categorised as an offensive weapon. Wether Russian officials consider it is another issue, but cancellation of the contract had no legal base. Iran has not to sue UN, but...

Russia Surprised by Iranian S-300 Legal Complaint

Russia canceled the contract in function on it´s own interpretation of the resolution, not on technical obligations. So Iran has a legal base to sue Russia. Another argument, is if someone will give them attention... But legal right, they have.

Russia's new Fire and forget missile Kornet-EM

It is moving and especially at long ranges seeker can lock on wrong target if missile does not receive update. Long range is stated as lock after launch so that violates your fire and forget principle. Fire and forget terminology applies to missile guidance. RPG is not missile but a rocket...

Russia's new Fire and forget missile Kornet-EM

It requires update if target is not stationary. Using your logic, RPG-7 is not guided after launch, fire & forget:cheesy:. You do not think, or what? So Spike needs C4I to operate effectively, or without it is junk as I explained? If you have C4I, there are artillery rounds with self...

Russia's new Fire and forget missile Kornet-EM

Play with toys and don´t know how they work. If you knew, you would bot spread that nosense. And you want to talk for me... If it needs to be guided after launch it is not fire and forget. What logic are you using? :cheesy: Hellfire is launched and guided until seeker comes close enought...

Russia's new Fire and forget missile Kornet-EM

You do not even know what thermal vision concept is. It is not because seeker does not lock on before launch, but in terminal stage. So no fire & forget here. There´s nothing similar. Hellfire´s target location is designated before launch, Spike flies blind with no prior knowledge (assuming...

Russia's new Fire and forget missile Kornet-EM

That has no sense lol. Both of them are semi-active. Radar guided Hellfire is guided until it´s seeker aquires target same as laser one. That is not Fire & Forget as I explained because it requires midcourse guidance. Thus it is in the same category as Vikhr. Did not knew what laser seeker is...
