Ideas for next years Kashmir uprising

Yes, perhaps it is easy to handle, but then the 600K troops you have in Kashmir must be of questionable competence to have failed to stop this despite the passage of 63 years. The rebellion against India in Kashmir is absolutely a people's movement. The kids throwing stones at Indian APCs and...

    TAPI gas pipeline project inked

Exactly. India should absolutely not participate in either IP(C) or TAP(C). Typically, the money is paid to the company operating the gas field. They then work out a deal with the host nation, paying X amount for the raw material/resource in question. "Pakistanis on this forum" are not a...

    TAPI gas pipeline project inked

Ok. So you actually don't have a clue. Do you really understand the issues at hand? The US has to be out of Afghanistan before bribes will work. That was my point. Which you missed. Xenophobia is a negative reaction to outsiders, i.e. the US. Shias have been in Afghanistan for a thousand+...

RAF Dropping to 6 Fast-Jet Units

"Great" britain, ladies and gentlemen :-) Meaningless island nation to colonial power to meaningless island nation in 350 years.

Ideas for next years Kashmir uprising

Not to widen the discussion here to so many theaters, but lets take a couple of examples: Russia has had a whale of a time holding down anything, and things are fragmenting, if you haven't noticed. They've already lost control of swathes of territory. The 'stans, Chechnya, Dagestan, issues with...

    TAPI gas pipeline project inked

In 5 years, by the time the pipeline completes, NATO will be long gone. After that, simply bribing the necessary tribes in Afghanistan will smooth matters over. That's the way things have been running for hundreds of years. In large part it is the presence of outsiders in Afghanistan that makes...

    TAPI gas pipeline project inked

This is what I have to say: "In March 2010 Iran and Pakistan signed an agreement on the pipeline in Ankara. In April, 2010, Iran announced that it has completed construction of 1,000 kilometres of the pipeline out of the 1,100 kilometres' portion on Iranian soil" Dhaka upbeat on Iran...

    TAPI gas pipeline project inked

I don't think India should sign the deal. This is really not in India's interest from what I can tell. By the time this pipeline is completed (5+ years), Pakistan's energy import bill will be somewhere in the $12-15B range. Afghanistan and Pakistan can consume double digit billions of...

    TAPI gas pipeline project inked

People will believe anything. And people who don't read, especially so. The IP pipeline has been *accelerated*. Iran is done with 1,000 of the 1,200km construction effort. Lastly, Pakistan will happily pay for the gas, as it has been paying for billions in oil imports, construction of...

    TAPI gas pipeline project inked

Are you trying to be obtuse? The pipeline deal is $7.5B in terms of putting the infrastructure together. The energy companies that will control and profit from the flow of gas will make massive amounts of money over decades. And as for the $1T spent in Afghanistan, much of it has been spent to...

Ideas for next years Kashmir uprising

History has shown that no military power on earth has been able to hold a significant territory against the will of the local population for an indefinite period of time. I would suggest you re-evaluate, "the valley is a small enough area to be able to be suppressed with military presence"...

Pakistan to remove visa for Turkish businessmen

Completely disagree with the comment about Karachi. There's beautiful golf courses, a number of very nice beaches - you need to find a friend who can book you a private hut and I'm sure someone on defence.pk will oblige if you need it. There's WONDERFUL restaurants. The Aqua Lounge in Zamzama...

And you know this because you conducted free and fair polls which gave you this result? Please. Don't be disingenuous and don't go down a road which will reduce this thread to abusive rants. Pakistanis will tell you that the percentage of Kashmiris wanting their land to remain part of India...

    TAPI gas pipeline project inked

I think this can work as far as TAP is concerned, but I don't think this is in India's interests. I really think they should reconsider. The strategy they adopted for the IPI pipeline should be repeated... even if they've expressed initial interest, there is still plenty of time to pull out.

Pakistani software outfit Pepper.pk breaks into Global Top 5 Blackberry Apps!

I am not disputing your experience, but there are thousands of software companies in Pakistan and obviously, your mileage will vary. In general, I think Project Management has come a LONG way in the last 5 years. As I mentioned, it has been sufficient to allow Pakistani companies to service...

Ideas for next years Kashmir uprising

But I think much of the above is going to happen anyway. And it will continue until someone in India goes back to Musharraf/Jaswant and agrees to at least make the deal public and adopt it as the first step toward a resolution. See, Musharraf/Jaswant is not an end-state. It is an evolutionary...
