exactly!!
what Bangladesh is displaying in 2017, it gives an indication of whats likely to be seen by 2025.... by that time Bangladesh won't be dependent on anyone.... in fact, it would be a very powerful state.... there's more than likely that by that time Bangladesh will produce ships that...
great post indeed.... great compilation of timelines....
yet, from job commissioning to ship commissioning (finishing whole class) is 3 years 8 months or 44 months....
from work start to ship commissioning is 2 years 10 months or 34 months....
that way, on an average one ship was delivered in...
the new Mi-28 looks cool....
"The armoured cabin can withstand 20 mm calibre guns and the composite main rotor blade can safely complete flight even after being hit by 20-30 mm caliber shells. Moreover, the fuel system can suppress explosion or ignition of fuel tank."...
you're right about that.... its a Bangladesh state project... and the Imams would be local.... the Govt. has just formalized certificates for the Imams.... the certification is nicely aligned with the structures being planned.... there's a lot more to come than just mosques.... its the tip of...
thats good for DEWN.... but there are at least 20 shipyards in BD that are capable of building classified ships.... some have already built ships for security forces (local and foreign).... I was talking about utilizing those resources....
when Western Marine was building OPV for Kenya, Rear...
good points indeed....
yet, the pace of shipbuilding needs to move up.... replacement ships can only fill gaps left open, when the previous force was not even nearly enough.... I have listed 41 ships above that would have to be scrapped within the next 10 years to even less.... some are already...
this is state project (NOT PRIVATE) that the PM herself boasted in her public speech.... she said that she would build mosques and Islamic cultural centers in every Upaliza....

I guess BNS Salam (P712) can be an interesting example though.... it was a Type 021 missile boat originally commissioned as BNS Durnibar (P8127) on 10 November 1988..... it sank in River Kanaphuli during cyclone of 1991..... then it was recovered, renovated and recommissioned in 2002...
you have every right to disagree....
but remember, those who play with "symbol", don't talk about type of symbol, e.g. "strong"
CHT is the symbol of a weak state.... its more like "Bangladesh is poor; we, need Western aid to prosper"... this philosophy is getting dumped now.... no turning back...
Bangladesh is determined to have its own aircraft..... and that requires some early work.... building up MRO centers has happened for several aircraft models.... its time to move on to the next level.... I hope there's likely to be some determination in that line....
firstly, if you bring up the term "status symbol", then you'll be playing into the trap of the foreign installments, who always want to prove that Bangladesh Army is just a "status symbol" who have nothing to do other than eat away resources.... I suggest you to not to go into that line...
fighting internally is for a weak state fighting with itself..... Bangladesh is beyond that now....
CHT insurgency doesn't rank high today.... its been cut to pieces mostly.... a revival is being tried from the other side of the border, but that is likely to fail too.... no need to waste money...
I hope you know why Bangladesh lobbied hard and won the seat, when it was supposed to go to India.... the chairmanship comes to Asia after every four years.... but India had to swallow that because Pakistan was there as a balance.... India had no other option to support Bangladesh.....
