Ideas to improve R&D in Pakistan

That's exactly what I keep saying. However, I don't need we need a new ministry. Our current ministries just need to do their jobs.

Ideas to improve R&D in Pakistan

Yes I understand your concern. I can be overly negative sometimes :) We have to keep hope alive always of course. For starters I would staff HEC with educationists and policy makers with experience in education and let it be independent. This will probably lead to a freeze in the construction...

Ideas to improve R&D in Pakistan

Yes that is always a possibility. In my opinion this won't work for Pakistan because I think in a place like Pakistan where very little works the way it should and people pride themselves on gaming whatever system they face, unforeseen effects will be negative. Unforeseen benefits are possible...

Ideas to improve R&D in Pakistan

I think you missed my point, which was you even if by a snap of your fingers you can suddently generate lots of amazing research but if it has nowhere (actual industry) to go at best it will fuel innovation abroad and at worst be useless.

Ideas to improve R&D in Pakistan

Right. I see our planners doing the right things in the wrong order. Yes, having higher education institutions is great. But when you have no industries for these people to go into and no economic prosperity for these people to have the cushion to innovate, then universities will just become...

Ideas to improve R&D in Pakistan

I mostly agree with what @Goenitz has to say. I think asking for R&D in Pakistan is putting the cart before the horse. I feel like that's what we do for a lot of things. For example, we'll build a university building and think about faculty and teaching later or maybe never. The reason I say...

Insider rumors: Is Turkey returning to the F-35 project?

Might be an attempt to kill the TFX and/or steer Turkey away from Pakistan (and indirectly China). Or maybe I'm thinking Pakistan is the center of the universe lol.

    Military Simulation - The Indo-Pak conflict - A hyperbole

@SQ8 In the plethora of requests here's one more. I'd be quite happy with a 3 sentence description of the results from you. I want to know how a purely UCAV attack would fare. I'm thinking that PA (independent of PAF) decides to take a target out and launches CH4B and burraq. Maybe 2 CH4B (EW)...

    Military Simulation - The Indo-Pak conflict - A hyperbole

Question: Is India doing the same? If not wont they eventually? How does one defend against something like this?

    Military Simulation - The Indo-Pak conflict - A hyperbole

We would also need to think about how many UCAVs can be launched for a time-on-target type attack. Maybe keep the scenario limited to a strike on that Brahmos housing facility on that other thread. Or maybe Ambala AFB.

    Military Simulation - The Indo-Pak conflict - A hyperbole

Perhaps we can continue in this thread or perhaps a separate thread is warranted due to the very specific nature of the requested simulation. Step 0 should be our best estimate of the types, numbers, and roles of systems in service for whenever this scenario is to play out (end of 2022?) Step...

PAF J-10C News, Updates and Discussion

Transponders are what the aircraft says it is. SAM sites are not locking on to transponder signals. However, what you are suggesting is exactly what the MALD is designed to do: EDIT: In short the MALD has RF emitters that mimic the return of bigger aircraft. Also it is jet powered and flies at...

BrahMos Storage Complex Under Construction in Halwara

Not reading into the Armenia Azerbaijan war. Most UCAVs have very small RCS and IR signatures making them very hard to detect and track. They are also detected much closer. The same reasons that make a CM hard to detect make a small UCAV hard to detect. I would argue a CM has a much higher IR...

BrahMos Storage Complex Under Construction in Halwara

Of course easier than CM and BM. Not easier than a manned jet. A UCAV is usually smaller, with a much smaller radar and heat signature. Furthermore, a swarm/formation of a large number of UAVs also confuses tracking algorithms, making things even more difficult for interception. And the idea is...

BrahMos Storage Complex Under Construction in Halwara

I know I keep bringing in conventional and nuclear conflict but let me just emphasize my point: Very obviously India would like to decimate Pakistan's war fighting capability without going nuclear. The risk with that is that Pakistan says it will use nukes if its integrity is threatened even if...
