Pakistan contact with Greece

There is a small Pakistani community in Greece. They are having a hard time there with the economic conditions but being resilient bunch they have made their mark on Helles over 2000 years after Alexander visited and conquered their lands on the Indus. The Battle of Hydaspes between Alexander and Porus was repeated in a MMA fight with Usman Muhammed being the later day Porus.

I am glad that Pakistani's are making their mark in 'manly' sports like boxing, MMA etc. Compared to rest of South Asia we are league years ahead. With Amir Khan boxing champ in UK,

I think Pakistanis can fare much better in rough sports like wrestling, boxing, rugby and ect... - unfortunately these are some of the most underfunded sports in Pakistan and the public have little interest towards them. Everyone has their mind bogged in cricket. Media should give more attention while Government should begin funding - there is a huge potential in this.

Actually private enterprises all over the world do a lot more for sports than Govt, its only the developing countries who rely on govt for all sports.

It's called 'when Pakistan made contact with Greece'. Payback time for the defeat Alexander visited on us over 2000 years ago.

I just did some checking to see where Usman Mohammed hails from. Apparently his ancestral village is only 20 miles from where Alexander defeated Porus. This makes it all the more sweeter !

Which is why in cricket, head to head Pakistan is better than all South Asian nations. Including india which has a populatuon that is nearly 8× bigger than that of Pakistan and who love cricket more than we do. That too when we can't play cricket at home and are subject to restrictions. That is a huge achievement.

Please name another South Asian country which has had a current or former world boxing champion at WBA, WBO or WBC level. Amir Khan is of Pakistani origin and has achieved the above accomplishments.

Compare indians to other races and nations of a billion plus and their sporting and other achievements are negligible.
