Addressing the joint session of Parliament, the defence minister revealed details about the attack, saying that three miscreants were killed and among them was an ex-Naval officer who was discharged in May last year.

Expressing concern over revealing details about the incident as this may jeapordise investigation, Asif remarked that it was an isolated incident.

He also stated that the attack was a blowback of the ongoing military operation in North Waziristan.

“It was a successful operation as all the attackers were either killed or arrested,” the minister stated, revealing that seven of the miscreants were under custody.

He further stated that no damage was done to any of the installations.

Asif also revealed that four 30-bore pistols, five 9mm pistols, two satellite phones, four suicide jackets, two detonators, 24 handcuffs and seven religious books were recovered from the attackers.

The minister also said that several of the security personnel were injured while trying to foil the attack, adding that a petty officer was also killed.

Asif said that security forces seized five 9 MM pistols, Kalashnikov rifles, three walkie talkies, suicide bomb vests, handcuffs and religious books from the militants.

Not at all ... its would blowing it way out of proportion my friend. Their failure at the door step clearly indicates that they had information about location but they didn't had inside help to assist their operation as it happened.. and that's why the got overwhelmed by security.

You guys would surely like to hype the things but since the start of WoT only the rogue elements that we have found were very low level officers or civilians working with Pak military. Even in this case both rogue officers were said to be JCO. One of them already left navy 4 months ago. Unlike in India's case where a Lieutenant Colonel went rogue we have some JCO's or civilians working with Pak military who tried to act on their own for terror organizations. And these guys surely have no control on any nuclear silo or something.

I don't know about India but here in Pakistan junior or low level officers don't have control on any nuke missile silo.

Mate, you are being over defensive. Merely pointing out the trending here. there were talks of inside help even in case of one of the airfield attacks in the past. Earlier, there was a red corner notice against a couple of Pakistani military men , though retired I think on terrorism charges. That's all. Don't jump down my throat. Was merely putting forth a point.

QUETTA (Dunya News) – At least three suspects of the Karachi Navy Dockyard attack were apprehended on Thursday while trying to flee to Afghanistan, Dunya News reported.
According to the details, all three accused had reached Quetta using a private car. All three accused were arrested from near Luck Pass upon a tip from the intelligence agency.
Sources revealed that several suspects have been taken into custody from various parts of the country after raids by the law enforcement.
The suspects were arrested from Sawabi, Karachi and interior Sindh.
Reportedly, the arrested suspects include members of banned outfits along with the presumed Navy personnel whereas more raids are being carried out to arrest more accused.
It merits mentioning here that terrorists had targeted Navy Dockyard in Karachi on Saturday morning but the security officials had foiled the attack after bravely confronting the terrorists.
At least two terrorists were killed while another four were arrested.
An officer of Pakistan Navy was martyred in the crossfire while seven security personnel were wounded.

you do know that its nukes we are talking about, not some water pistol, it has command and control system in place -- not that it makes difference to us, but US has assured the world time and again that theybhave confidence in Pakistan's nuclear asset security --- so your point is flawed --- please do tell me how manyincidents have happened related to pakistani nukes and compare that with US, UK, India....

The Question is how to prevent this Attack from repeating again and again
Its to destroy the head of the snake i.e attack where they least expect means Afghanistan and attack with what ever means necessary and let government of afghanistan know you guys means business.

PESHAWAR (Monitoring Desk): Al-Qaeda´s new South Asia branch Thursday claimed responsibility for a weekend raid on a Karachi naval yard that left a sailor and three attackers dead, saying former military officers had helped in the attack, according to foreign news agency.
It is the first attack claimed by the terror network´s new wing, whose creation was announced by chief Ayman Al-Zawahiri last week.
Al-Qaeda in South Asia was launched last week in what experts see as a bid to remain relevant in the face of rising competition by the Islamic State (IS).
“The operation near Karachi shore was an attack by Al-Qaeda in the Subcontinent,” an Urdu-language statement from the group sent to AFP said.
It claimed that the target of the raid was a “US supply ship” and said the dead attackers included former Pakistan navy officers.
It was not immediately possible to confirm whether a US ship was present at the port.
Militant groups in the region often exaggerate claims about attacks.
Commodore Nadeem Bukhari, a spokesman for the Pakistan navy said an investigation into the attack was under way.
