  • The sanctions do have an impact on Iranian citizens' lives. It makes trade with outside harder and it creates problems for many Iranian families that have their relatives living in outside, especially the ones that are studying abroad, in particular the children of Iranian families that are dependent on the money they receive from their parents from Iran. The sanctions only make things hard for ordinary Iranians, but it won't cripple the Iranian economy or change the determination of Iranians to resist and stand against being bullied, somehow it provokes Iranians to stand firm and united against injustice.
    Hi S-19,
Well, it does have an impact. After the Iranian Rial devalued I got some of my plans canceled unexpectedly which was very bad. I was planning to go to Georgia for tourism but then after the Iranian Rial devalued all my costs got doubled in less than a week so I decided to delay the travel so the government would control the price of dollar in the market. The price of dollar decreased, but it's still like 50% higher than before.
Also, one of my friends in the states wanted to send me something, a book actually, but then they realized that the USPS will not send it to Iran.
Forget about Chechneya - One's freedom fighter is another's Terrorist...so leave it at that instead ! No..I didn't imply that you were insulting, quite to the contrary you've been polite in all of our conversations, if a bit impatient with the other person ! :P

And No..Wahabi is not a sect like Sunnis and Shi'ites - They are Sunnis ! And they prefer to be called 'Salafis' instead of Wahabis...! But either way their believes being ridiculed like that (and they have been..incessantly) isn't a very pleasant experience for anyone !

I've got some work to do as well...! Have my exams coming up in June...so back to Financial Derivatives for me ! And yeah..do take care !
Thats because each of us have their red-lines ! Talk crap about Jinnah, about the Two Nation Theory, about Pakistan as a failed State etc. and even the most polite of Pakistanis would lynch you ! Similarly when a Saudi is called a Wahabi incessantly or a Iranian something with a Shi'ite connotation or his Ayatollah made fun of...obviously they'll snap back ! I know you did when I involved the Chechens....! :P
We all do ! Criticise a Pakistani, an Indian, a Chinese or even a Russian (I've frequented the J-20 thread enough times to know that) - and we'd all take it that way ! So its nothing unique about the Saudis...! Heck, I think they are probably the most resilient of the lot that they still stick around after all the mud that we - the lot of us - sling at them !
Yes, it appears as such ! And the belief is that with the 320+ T-80UDs/T-84s, the 400+ Al-Zarrars (Chinese Type-59s which were in turn copies of the Soviet T-54s, upgraded vastly by incorporating technologies from the Al-Khalid and the T-80s to make them potent enough to face off against India's upgraded T-72s) and the Al-Khalids (and later Al-Khalid -2s) - the Armoured Corps should be alright !
Nabil and ANTIBODY have collected some really nice stuff in the Al-Khalid threads ! I suggest you should go through them !
Thanks, mate ! But I can't do much about a T-90 vs Leopard comparison ! I'm a Pakistani...my army isn't going to be fighting the German Army any time soon so unless its a T-90 vs Al-Khalid, I'm not sure if I'd loose much sleep over which is better ! :P
Comrade, you do realize that you are just as vociferous when it comes to Iran, Wahabism, Secularism and what not ! :P But either way, I wouldn't be able to tell a T-90 from a T-84 if it was there in front of me, so I'm hardly the right person to be convinced either way !
