Facts Don't Lie - US Definitely Helping ISIS Against Russia in Syria

"Washington hasn’t simply assisted ISIS by concealing reports about the movements of their forces to Deir Ez-Zor, but also struck a deal with Sunni tribes ensuring that ISIS can cross their lands unreported and unopposed."

Alexander Orlov

America picks the most unlikely allies

It is now clear that the unexpected counterattack that ISIS militants launched near the Deir ez-Zor and Palmyra, forcing Russia’s air group deployed in Syria to take urgent measures to repel it, that almost overran positions occupied by Syrian forces was staged by the US and its Kurdish SDF allies along with a number of local Sunni tribes.

As for the death of Russian General Valery Asapov who was struck dead during enemy shelling at his C2 post, it’s curious that the shot that murdered this high-profile Russian officer was made with such deadly precision.

There’s no chance that one could land such a shot without access to satellite and air photos. It’s hardly a secret that the Islamic State (ISIS) has no access to this level of reconnaissance assets, but Washington does.

Moreover, a detachment up to 6.000 militants could not approach Deir ez-Zor from the southeast unnoticed.

Such a force would be inevitably detected by US-coalition aircraft and satellites.

But Washington appear to have been indifferent in transferring this information to the Russian military command, since the United States was pursuing several goals other than fighting ISIS, including:

  • to ensure that pro-US Kurdish forces would be able to occupy vast oil fields near Deir ez-Zor;
  • to disrupt the crossing of Syrian army troops to the east bank of the Euphrates via a pontoon bridge built by Russian military engineers and;
  • to undermine the prestige of Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and the forces he commands on the eve of the 2-year anniversary of the arrival of the Russian air group to Syria.
However, Washington hasn’t simply assisted ISIS by concealing reports about the movements of their forces to Deir Ez-Zor, but also struck a deal with Sunni tribes ensuring that ISIS can cross their lands unreported and unopposed.

Therefore, Damascus had to urgently transfer sections of its Idlib-Khama front, including some of its best forces, to rapidly organize a defense along the strategic road between Palmyra – Deir ez-Zor. On the night of September 30, a total of 800 men and 50 tanks of the Syria’s elite Tigers force arrived to Palmyra.

Apparently, the command of the Syrian Armed Forces perceived the threat of a militant assault on the city as inevitable. The Islamic State had already released a report on its website indicating that its militants managed to destroy two Syrian military jets stationed at the T-4 base.

A brief look at the map of Syria indicates the above mentioned airbase is to be found in the city of Tadmur, only a couple of miles away from Palmyra.

That also means that militants are approaching Palmyra from the west. Should they continue to do so, the Syrian government will have little choice but to transfer troops from other fronts, including some of the most battle-capable units, now needed to defend Palmyra, which will reduce efforts to restore security nationwide.

This has worked well in ISIS’ favor. Moreover, all US-coalition aircraft have ceased patrols over the Euphrates river, which means that ISIS has the ability to launch offensives in this area as well. By scattering their forces across a narrow 60-miles long front, militants have considerably reduced the effectiveness of air strikes carried out by both Syrian and Russian military aircraft, especially with the Russian air corps being heavily employed near the Idlib area.

Mere days after the launch of an ISIS offensive, the Kurds began seizing oil fields along the east bank of the Euphrates river. It was reported that they occupied the Jafra oil field, heading to the largest oil field in Syria – al-Omar.

While the US demonstrates its utter lack of cooperation with its Syrian and Russian “partners” in the fight against terrorism by freezing all military flights across the west bank the Euphrates river for at least a week, granting ISIS a massive area of operations, the east is occupied by SDF forces, forcing Damascus to abandon its plan of regaining control over its own oil fields and instead focusing on its efforts on eliminating ISIS forces.

Simultaneously, Turkey began occupying certain parts of Syria’s Idlib province. Ankara pursues the same goal as before – the creation of a buffer separating Kurdish enclaves in Syria from the Turkish territory. Erdogan appears disinterested in Washington’s plans to balkanize Syria, but at the same time he has no intention to discuss the buffer zone he is now creating in northern Syria.

In the meantime, in the south of the Syrian Arab Republic, ISIS continues attacking Syrian positions in a series of hit and run engagements. For instance a small contingent of 100 militants captured the town of al-Qaryatain west of Palmyra three times over the period of just two days. During their first assault they would capture a total of 20 pro-government Syrians and execute them hours later.

If one is to take into account the fact that it’s a remote city that is far away from any major engagements, while the group operating in this particular area represents one of the many reactivated sleeper cells ISIS maintains, one can begin to comprehend difficulty Damascus has in coordinating its forces wisely. In just two days of ongoing skirmishes Syria lost more that 500 soldiers.

At the same time, Syria’s foreign allies including Hezbollah, Afghan volunteers and Shia soldiers of the Army of Mahdi are suffering equally serious losses. There’s almost no reports coming from Al-Qaryatayn, where Syrian forces are fighting ISIS militants from an elite unit.

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to state that the situation remains extremely complicated in Deir ez-Zor. Clashes occur both in the outskirts and within the city itself, but ISIS militants are almost exclusively attacking the positions where Russian military advisers can be found.

The plan of action that the Islamic State has is clear, with the terrorist force taking every effort to capture Palmyra in an attempt to relieve ISIS militants surrounded elsewhere.

In this difficult situation that Russia, Iran and Syria find themselves in due to Washington’s cunning plan, ISIS militants are clearly counting on their luck.

Theoretically, Damascus can return the situation under its control if it manages to stall the terrorist offensive in the foreseeable future. But in order to achieve this goal, Damascus has to manage whatever forces it has wisely.

Military experts argue that the Kurds will reach the Khabur River and stop there to take a better look at what the Syrian military will be able to achieve on the west bank of the Euphrates.

Apparently, they are waiting for when the government forces to head for Mayadin. After all, Washington has made it clear to the Kurds that it doesn’t simply want them to occupy oil fields, but also prevent Damascus from establishing control of the Syrian-Iraqi border and block the route along which Iran could send troops and equipment to Syria.

This is by far the most important goal in Syria today from Washington’s point of view. Iranian Foreign Mohammad Javad Zarif wasn’t particularly picky with words when he stated that Washington is eager to cooperate with any force, including ISIS, in a bid to prevent the Syrian army from securing the border with Iraq, which would create a land supply bridge from Iran to Syria.

There can be hardly any difference of opinions about what the US is trying to do in Syria. In fact, it’s trying to stab its partners in the fight against terrorism in the back simply because it somehow fits Washington’s own immediate interests. Western attempts to get Moscow drawn even deeper into the Syrian war is a part of ongoing attempts to undermine Russia’s economic situation, all on the eve of upcoming presidential elections.

USA and Daesh are best friends:

Terrorists from US-controlled area capture two aid convoys in Syria
October 11, 11:28

Washington will be responsible for sabotaging the peace process in Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said

MOSCOW, October 11. /TASS/. Militants from the US-controlled areas have seized two convoys with medicines and food aimed for two Syrian settlements, Russian Defense Ministry Spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov said on Wednesday.

According to the Russian general, about 300 terrorists of the Islamic State (terrorist organization outlawed in Russia) have infiltrated in pickups through the US-controlled zone in At Tanf and tried to block the Damascus-Deir ez-Zor road that is used to supply Syrian troops and deliver humanitarian aid to civilians.

"The question how about 300 ISIL [former name of IS - TASS] militants using pick-up trucks who tried to block the strategically important Damascus-Deir ez-Zor highway, through which supplies for Syrian troops are brought and humanitarian aid for the population is delivered, penetrated into the US-controlled area in al-Tanf remains unanswered," Konashenkov stressed.

"We offer the American side to clarify another instance of turning a blind eye to the activities of militants operating under their very noses. It is purely for military ethics reasons that we do not publish the latest photos of the US base in al-Tanf with an abundance of pick-up trucks with heavy machine guns and recoiless guns that are not typical of the US army," he noted.

According to Konashenkov, about 600 militants left the refugee camp in the US-controlled zone.

"From October 2 to 3, about 600 militants stationed at the Rukban refugee camp in the US-controlled At Tanf area have departed westward in an orderly manner in off-road vehicles," he said.

Having covered more than 300 kilometers in cars, the convoy passed through the former Tafas border checkpoint on the Syrian-Jordanian border to the southern de-escalation zone (Daraa Governorate, Syria), according to the general.

"In another 'strange' coincidence, almost simultaneously with them, two convoys with medicines and food for local population entered this de-escalation zone," Konashenkov said. The first convoy with the cargo of 30 tonnes entered Hajmi and the second one carrying 60 tonnes arrived in Khel.

The humanitarian assistance was unloaded and is in the hands of militants, who arrived from Al-Tanf, he said, adding that these settlements are controlled by sleeper cells of Jabhat al-Nusra (terror group, outlawed in Russia).

According to Konashenkov, 600 militants who arrived from the US-controlled area near Al-Tanf should have either clashed with these cells to seize medicines and food or should have acted alongside with them.

Russia’s Defense Ministry predicts an attempt to disrupt the peace process in the 4th [southern] de-escalation zone in Syria and responsibility for its sabotage will be borne by the US side, Konashenkov said.

"Considering such serious manpower reinforcements with US benevolence and the creation of the stock of medicines with food supplies, one should not be an expert to forecast an attempt to disrupt the peace agreement now in the southern de-escalation zone as well. We are warning that all the responsibility for the peace process sabotage will be borne by the US side," Konashenkov said.

He recalled that the ministry had already drawn the American counterparts’ attention to the fact that "the base illegally deployed by them to southern Syria is turning into a black hole.

Wait...I'm confused.
Russian allegation is the US has been helping ISIS for a long time. Gotcha.

However Russia is now claiming that because the US has stopped bombing ISIS near the Euphrates ISIS can now suddenly launch offenses against Syria causing the Russians and Syrians to have to reallocate troops.

But..but...if the US had been helping ISIS all along ISIS would have already crossed the Euphrates long ago. They wouldn't need to wait for the US to stop bombing them since apparently according to the Russian we were never bombing them to begin with.

:cuckoo:

Russia (and people here) want the US out of Syria. But if we leave we are blamed for helping ISIS? If we stay we are blamed for helping ISIS... :cuckoo:

It's a well known that USA is behind the Islamic terrorists around the world.

It's just a kind of sin and unforgiven if this Islamic terrorist to attack the West, instead of Western rivals like China, Russia, Myanmar, etc.

You will surprise to know that the current Islamic political movement in Indonesia is backed up by USA.

Wait...I'm confused.

For USA, Islamic terrorist is just a pion that can be used to cover USA involvement.

I think USA got a lot of bad publicity in Iraq issue a decade ago. So USA now hiding behind other country, as well as Islamic terrorists.

'Clear as Day' - US Helping ISIS in Syria - Top Russian Anchor (Kiselyov)
"They silently supply them with weapons, help them move, take them out of the fire, provide them with data from aerial footage, coordinates for government forces' locations, and even locations for Russian troops."

Dmitry Kiselyov is blistering in his indictment here of obvious US support for ISIS fighters in Syria.

He explains the amazing statement which came out of the Russian ministry of defense last week, that this US support is the only thing blocking Russia from completely wiping ISIS out in Syria.

Of course, nothing doing in the Western media on this.

Hello? Hello? New York Times, anybody home?

(Full transcript follows video with best parts bolded)

Kiselyov:

Something has become entirely clear in Syria.

When there was already light at the end of the tunnel, when over 90% of the country is free from ISIS terrorists, and from Jabhat Al-Nusra, US starts simply helping these terrorists in secret.

The silently supply them with weapons, help them move, take them out of the fire, provide them with data from aerial footage, coordinates for government forces' locations, and even locations for Russian troops.

It came to a point, when it was the US, not the ISIS combat preparedness, which in Syria became the main obstacle for full liberation of Syria from terrorists. They are the main obstacle.

I' not making this stuff up ... , this is the official position of Russian Defense Ministry.

Igor Konashenkov, Russian Defense Ministry rep:

"The main obstacle in stopping terrorists in Syria isn't the terrorists' combat preparedness, but their support from their US colleagues."

Kiselyov:

It's as clear as day. Obviously, the US denies everything. But the Russian Defense Ministry don't believe them, preferring to trust the facts.

We remember how hard it was last week, when a part of Palmyra-Deir-ez-Zor road was taken over by fanatics.

This is the main artery for Syrian Army supply, who have active combat from Deir-ez-Zor onto the remaining terrorists forces. Basically, this was a strike on the rear end. It was planned and realized with help from US.

At the same time, on September 28th, a large terrorist group, around 300 people, left a US base At-Tanf, on the Jordanian border. Close by, there is a large refugee camp, Rukban. There are dozens of thousands people in there.

The US won't let anyone approach them, even the humanitarian convoy from the UN. This camp is like a human shield for the base.

Somewhere around here, the US trains their army for the political opposition to Assad. So, in the most magical way, an ISIS group leaves this same region.

There are about 300 men and dozens of Jeeps. They smoothly infiltrate the government-controlled territory.

Interesting, but the terrorists successfully passed all the hidden checkpoints around residential Harbat as-Shemi and Al-Bassiri. This was no pure luck.

They had exact coordinates, which could only be obtained via aerial intelligence, inspected by experts, and then passed on then proceed with the diversion terrorist actions.

With dawn, the terrorists tried to take over the vantage points, right around the Al-Qaryatayn residential area.

As we see, the Defense Ministry of Russia's tone becomes more confident, and the hints are more direct: "We will fight."

If US sees these operations as unexpected accidents, then Russian VKS in Syria are ready to proceed with destroying all such accidents in their zone, But why is this happening? Did Trump come up with this? Surprisingly, but it doesn't look that.

It's more likely to be the result of low-quality control, when the military gets out of political control. Then on the ground in Syria they start roaming uncontrollably, playing their own games.

Konashenkov even said that this was a result of their US colleagues flirting with the terrorists. Either way, the result is very unpleasant. Both for Russia and for the US authorities. Their own Generals push them in for a great adventure.

In Moscow, they see, that the US-controlled zone is like a black hole, according to Konashenkov.

That's where the US At-Tanf base is on the border with Jordan. And Americans train someone there.

At-Tanf turned into a 100-km black hole on the Syrian-Jordanian government border.

Instead of a new Syrian Army, just like jacks-in-the-box, deploying from there for diversion terrorist attacks against the Syrian troops and civilians are mobile ISIS groups.

But even in these conditions, Putin remains positive about victory over Syrian terrorists. No matter who helps them there. And, he believes that the cooperation with the US in Syria is still possible.

On Wednesday, the President spoke about it on the Russian Energy Week Forum.

Putin:

I'm sure, we'll eventually successfully destroy terrorist formations of Al-Nusra Front and ISIS, together with everybody. We have something that unites us all. And we must concentrate not on out discrepancies, but on our common interests. Then we will succeed.

Kiselyov:

On Wednesday, Russian VKS struck Al-Nusra Front's positions.

As a result of precise strikes from the SU-34 and SU-35 bombers, 12 high-ranking ringleaders of this terrorist group were destroyed, along with 50 militant guards.

The head of Al-Nusra, Abu Mohammad Al-Julani is seriously injured. He lost his arm and is currently in a coma. It's hard to survive with this condition in the field.

US knows well how much mayhem terrorists can create in other countries. It helped create Al Qaeda for the same purpose before. For Americans, all terrorists are good terrorists until they start to attack Americans.

US Air Force AIRLIFTS! ISIS Fighters From Raqqa to Fight Russians - Russian TV Report
Despite completely leveling Raqqa Dresden-style, the US deliberately let 1000 ISIS fighters escape, and, get this: AIR-LIFTED! them to Deir ez-Zor, to aide in the battle against Russia and Syria there.

Can't make this stuff up.

Tue, Oct 17, 2017
Russian TV keeps hammering away at the US, accusing them of all manner of double-dealing and treachery - deliberately helping ISIS hang in there in Syria, despite the fact that their situation is hopeless militarily.

US aide to ISIS has become a very loud refrain on Russian TV, covered in detail on a daily basis.

Comments from the Ministry of Defense and top commentators are literally dripping with angry sarcasm:

"Only for the reasons of military ethics we don’t publish recently taken photos of the US military base in Al-Tanf, crammed with, to put it mildly, atypical for the US Army (weapons only ISIS would have need for)" - Russian Ministry of Defense

On October 13th, according to Voltaire.net:

The Russian Chief of Staff, General Sergey Rudskoy, indicated that the US Coalition’s bombings in Iraq are very infrequent. Because of this, a thousand Daesh fighters have been able to leave the country for Syria.

These fighters, together with another 2000 fighters, participated in an attack against the Syrian Arab Army. However the Syrian Arab Army had been able to ward it off.

(Transcript of report follows below)

One of the main reasons it's interesting to watch Russian news is that it shows crucially important events occurring in the world that the MSM never covers. In this case, as in many others it's the human story that's swept under the rug.

While Americans only get distant reports of anonymous "troops" fighting ISIS, Russian reporters are boots on the ground, kilometers away from the front lines, and what they have shown us is tragic, but not surprising.

In contrast to the concern for civilians on behalf of Russia and Syria, by the time Trump is done "bombing the hell out of ISIS", there won't be a Raqqa to liberate.

Kiselyov (Russia's Top Anchor):

Two weeks ago, we said that it was the Americans, and not combat capabilities of the barbarian pseudo-Caliphate terrorists, that became the main obstacle to ending the war in Syria.

This week, General Konashenkov, the Defense Ministry spokesman, called the actions of the US and their coalition in Syria and Iraq "an imitation of the fight against ISIS".

In fact, Americans interact with terrorists, for example, at their illegally deployed military base Al-Tanf in southern Syria.

Igor Konashenkov, the Defense Ministry spokesman:

"Only for the reasons of military ethics we don’t publish recently taken photos of the US military base in Al-Tanf, crammed with, to put it mildly, atypical for the US Army off-roaders with large-caliber DShK machine guns and recoilless weapons."

Kiselyov:

Nevertheless, the country's liberation process is underway. Now ISIS is controlling less than 8% of the Syrian territory.

Meanwhile, the Americans have pretty much wiped the ISIS capital, Raqqa, off the map.

The ruins went to the Kurds. The remaining terrorist fighters were carefully transported to help those who are unsuccessfully defending Deir ez-Zor.

So cynical.

wow weak me up again if their ever come trust worthy news from Russia... turn around to sleep the next 100 years ;)

USA not Russia lied about "weapons of mass destruction" in Iraq to attack Iraq and prevent it from selling it's oil for Euros (instead of US dollars).

So much about trustworthiness.

Exactly, Trump himself said that the USA created ISIS. And now he is continuing their policies.

You are taking his words out of context. He means ISIS wouldn't exist if we hadn't invaded Iraq. He's not saying we funded them. He's saying they wouldn't have had a reason to become a fighting force if we hadn't overthrown Saddam.

Sort of like how Israel created the PLO.

That would make a lot of sense, except for the fact that Trump said that it was Obama and Hillary who created ISIS. And they were not the ones who overthrew Saddam.

Splitting hairs on semantics eh? Well I'm going to hold you to your original quote of "USA" then.
