They were volunteers and came for aid.
Almost 20 years has been passed for this Mujahid that is why youngsters have no idea about him.

Turkish folks aren't exactly new comers in this part of the Hindu Kush!!!! Even the name Kash-mir has a Turkic resonance!!!! As for Shehits, it's the greatest honor....
