Rabi Pirzada’s ‘Rashk-e-qamar’ will make your ears bleed

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s magical voice has been inspiring to many. Several singers take up his songs, to recreate their version of it. This version of Nusrat Sahab’s famous Rashq e Qamar by Rabi Pirzada has made this beautiful qawwali sound horrendous.
Rabi has turned tables for this song being a legendary one in the world of Sufism. She has incorporated violence in her video which is not a reflection of the lyrics of this qawwali in any manner. According to Rabi Pirzada, she has tried to give the message of women empowerment in the video, which clearly shows that we need to redefine what that means.
Rabi who has presented herself as ‘Bano killer’ in the song can be seen frolicking with a cobra around voodoo dolls and killing the kidnappers with heavy guns. Girls who are shown as her team workers in the video can be seen being indulged in ruthless task like strangling a hen, eating raw eggs and chopping the voodoo dolls with a knife
