ISLAMABAD: Looking to have run short of patience in the face of a new wave of terror, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday declared an ‘all out war’ on Pakistan’s ‘enemies’.

In an unusually strong-worded statement, the premier directed and authorised armed forces and law enforcement agencies to eliminate the enemy – whether it be inside the country or ‘coming from outside’ of it – with the full force of the state.

Informed official sources said the PM chaired separate meetings in Islamabad, Sehwan and Nawabshah where security measures after deadly blast at Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine were reviewed.

The meetings were attended by the security brass led by army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, military and civilian spymasters and members of the premier’s cabinet, including Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar and National Security Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua.

Pakistan asks Afghanistan to hand over 76 terrorists immediately

After being advised by the security brass to ‘show no mercy’ to anti-state elements and their supporters and facilitators, Premier Nawaz approved the launch of full-scale targeted operations across the country to hunt down terrorists. More than 100 hardcore terrorists have already been taken out in intelligence-based operations (IBOs) throughout the country, government and security estimates suggest.

the prime minister designated NSA Janjua as the focal person between the government and security agencies regarding the full-scale counter-terrorism drive.

“This war will end, and it will conclude with the victory of our people, including our positive values that bind us,” Premier Nawaz said in a statement. “For the past many years, we have been fighting enemies both within and from abroad. We have faced dark days in our history. However, we have always come through with a resilience that has been an inspiration for the world.”

“It is time for us to unite and fight against the radicals … [whether] they be inside or coming from the outside. I direct and authorise my armed forces and law enforcement agencies to eliminate the enemy wherever it is with the full force of the state,” he added while chairing the top-level meeting in Sehwan.

According to the statement, the Sindh chief secretary briefed the prime minister on the grisly suicide attack in Sehwan, which has so far claimed 88 lives. The premier specifically directed the Sindh government to ensure foolproof security at the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar, the target of Thursday’s attack. “The Sindh chief minister assured the prime minister that each possible measure will be taken to improve the security of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine and other shrines in the province.”

Requesting anonymity, a government official privy to the matter said the instructions to eliminate the terrorists were issued sensing the gravity of the situation. “Extraordinary situation demands extraordinary steps.”

He said the terrorists taken out in targeted operations across the country also included those who escaped during the infamous jailbreaks in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan few years back. “If you put these people in jails, they run way. If you produce them before courts no one is going to testify against them out of fear. You only have the option to get rid of them.”

Speaking to The Express Tribune, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said his province’s government is acting in compliance with the instructions of federal government to step up drive against terrorists.

He said Punjab’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Rangers, security agencies and local police conducted multiple raids in Lahore, Sargodha, Jhang, Gujranwala, Multan, Southern Punjab and related belts to take out several suspects.

“The exact details cannot be shared due to the reasons of secrecy. But this will continue till the elimination of anti-state elements. There is no specific timeline. As the prime minister said, this war will continue.”

It's decided then: “If you put these people in jails, they run way. If you produce them before courts no one is going to testify against them out of fear. You only have the option to get rid of them.”

..............start looking in PM HOUSE FIRST PROBABLY A DOZEN HIDING THERE IN PAJAMA WITH LEAKS

Why wasn't it the case even before this new wave of attacks ? Why reacting only after so much deaths ? Why so much passivity ?
A state of emergency need to be installed in some parts of Pakistan I think, with increased and full powers given to intelligence/army/security services.
Green light should be given to army/intelligence services to conduct operations across the Afghan border, where it is obvious that the terrorists are hiding/retreating there and planning their operations. A cooperation with Afghanistan would be much appreciated, but you just can rule out it... The Afghan government, who is already struggling to keep its authority on all of its territory.

Khawarij kuttay should only be put down. Not locked up.

That's the highlight of this news. Took some to realise this after 80k lives!

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

It's because of rampant corruption that is eating away at the nations foundations. All politicians are busy defending their own corruption in court and paying no attention to the country. All institutions have been compromised by PM's lackeys who put PM before country.

National Action Plan which was brought into policy was scrapped because so many politicians have links with terrorist outfits and the trail leads to them and they are afraid of military courts so scrapped them. Allowing terrorist to escape.

When the PM and his political allies are dishonest and in bed with such people then results are this. Making hurdles for the army to kill and apprehend terrorist as well.

There is a need for French revolution sadly.

'Where ever they are' ......Ok now forces should arrest Rana Sanaullah and the PM himself first....

YES GOOD ADVICE....... ITS ARTICLE 233/244 OF CONST OF PAK........ DECLEARING EMERGENCY.... BUT THE GOOD THING ABOUT IT IS THAT PANAMA CASE WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR 1 YEAR BECAUSE ITS UNDER ARTICLE 184/3.. RELATED WITH FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS, WHICH WILL ALSO BE SUSPENDED....

Panama & Dawn have NOT been forgotten. Along with model town
It's unfortunate that some in our nation have such views. I am not a supporter of N-League, one of the reason of partial democracy in Pakistan is such views. Terrorism can not be eradicated by blaming civilian leadership and doubting their sincerity.

please you carry on with your support. Mian Ji is above Mulk and Millat for N-League waley. The writing on the wall is obvious but if Democracy is just about corruption and defending corruption then Mian ji is the best thing to happen to Pakistan.
