When the White House says the Afghan Taliban are not terrorists, then they are not terrorists.


USA recognizes TTP as a terrorist organization.
TTP are bloody terrorists.

Afghan Taliban are not, that is why USA is negotiating with them.

explaining that Taliban Suicide bombers are not terrorists even though
they commit terrorist acts.

Afghan Taliban are just as brutal and vicious as the TTP. But all of Afghanistan is vicious and full of militancy, and the Kabul government has not established its writ over most of Afghanistan. That is why international powers are negotiating with the Afghan Taliban in Afghanistan, whereas no one can even think about negotiating with the TTP.

taliban is a proxy, they will never come to negotiating table. Thing is they know once they come to negotiating table and if they agree for peace their masters will be at loss. Taliban several times tried to initiate peace talks but ppl who did it got arrested in their sanctuary. Their so called emir mullah omar was kept alive just to fool the cadres into thinking that they are indeed fighting a holy war.

On the part of americans, it is not that they cannot go after sources funding taliban and screw them. They deliberately let taliban live. It suits their purpose, to simply stay put in afghanistan. US is more interested in keeping it self a relevant player in afghanistan than lives of afghans. Simply put its all in the game.

Blaming America for Afghanistan's ills is everybody's favorite game. Believe me, they deserve a lot of the blame, but this idea that US just wants to remain in Afghanistan and that's why they let thing go on as they did is a bit far-fetched to me. Because there's no need for it. They can just remain.

No. There are also other factors. Trained and equipped by US -- as well as India -- why are they failing so badly against a ragtag team of fighters? And what about Afghanistan government and military own incompetence in hold their own against the Taliban? You haven't touched on this key issue.

Personally, I am happy with a free and democratic election.
Europe has tried rule by mafiosos, so we are perfectly placed to reject
