Not that its very important for us but my question is that why would Indians cite "sanctions" as a reason? What does that have to do with anything? Are sanctions targeting counties who have direct flights to Tehran?
Even if they did, why would India be the only country to take action for it?
We're at a time when everyone is trying to establish ties with Iran specifically after the nuclear deal.
But India feels the need to do the exact opposite?
Why?
We need cooperation now more than ever. We need expansion of bilateral ties and we definitely need expansion of tourism to help both of our economies

Last time USA temporarily degraded Indian airlines rating, Indian airlines do not want a repeat:

So while the airlines have not cancelled the plans for direct flights, they have taken a cautious approach by delaying launch by a few weeks and see how the situation unfolds under Trump Presidency.

Downgrade them for what? Having direct flights to Tehran? Are u sure that was the reason?
Also who downgraded them?
And why didn't it happen to anybody else?
No Iran was not the reason at least officially.

But airlines have taken a cautious approach by delaying launch by a few weeks and see how the situation unfolds under Trump Presidency as they do not want to get into any trouble as several International plane leaser company like GECAS see close links of an airline with Iran as negative.

"We don't know what is going to be the policy of the Trump administration towards Iran. If sanctions are reimposed, there could be an issue in getting permission from the US banks for operating the aircraft in that territory," a highly placed source told PTI

I'm not sure that is the case. Much more popular and advanced airliners like Etihad, Qatar airways, Turkish Airlines,...... Are increasing their flights to Iran.
This also is true when it comes to smaller regional airlines

Maybe what you said only applies to Indian airlines? If that's the case then they are bullying you and you must put an stop to it

Etihad, Qatar do not lease aircraft, they buy them.
There is nothing wrong with delaying launch by a few weeks to observe the situation.

Is it enough for pro-India policies Iran??? or you will still continue.
I think India has taken the step in her national interest :-):agree:

India looks forward to strengthen cooperation with Iran: Prez

Bro, Indians own the aircraft not the finance companies.
Almost all of Iranian new aircrafts in the deal with Boeing and Airbus are for example financed by foreign companies. But this doesn't mean we ask for their permission for whatever we do
So this reason is absurd.

Most airlines like Go-Air lease the aircraft not own them.
Additionally airlines are aldo dependent on US bank loans.

good for Iran, they deserve this.
to please India , the Iranians fire artillery at Pakistan and support baloch insurgency,

So....
Indian STATE airliner is pre-emptively respecting a yet-non-existent request by an American fiance company because she is afraid it wouldn't get new loans from them?

1- there is no sanction yet
2- there is no request by the American finance companies yet
3- this is the STATE airliner of India so finance companies would kill to finance it. If Americans feel the need to boss you guys around you should look for another company and I'm convinced you'll find a lot of them
4- all other airliners are expanding their fleet to Iran
