We got them when they where in Production, NOT AFTER.

Yes and we kept them operational since then. We have the capabilities to maintain mirage planes.
We may not get anymore F-16, it all depends on new president. Pakistan want to leave American camp and play a neutral role. We need to improve our relationship with Russia without expecting too much in return. Russia has realized the American game in Afghanistan and they are ready to work with China and Pakistan to counter it.
It's too early to predict if Russia will be willing sell high value items (SU-35, AAM, SAM, Air Defence, S-400) to Pakistan for the right price.

there is no Strategic or Diplomatic move in buying a Old Fighter with tons of Problems ..PAF have rejected J-10 for the very same reason and if they buy this now , this clearly means there is some Air commodore making good bucks or property in Dubai ..
Unless UAE give big discount offering M2k9. Adding M2K9 with numbers in very cheap price is not a bad idea!

Jf-17 is build in Pakistan but the technology is from China.
Paf may not want all Chinese planes.
Do you want our Air force to look like this
JF-17, J-10 and J-31???

The case is unclear yet but can't say what details are in files. Rest assured, if it has to happen then it isn't Pakistan UAE understanding alone but Dassault is also taken into confidence so we can expect bonus goodies for such, we hear rumors time to time and possibility of the same for JF-17. Interestingly, Pakistan and France have already signed MOU for technical collaboration for JF-17 (specifically, engine harness/electrification with ToT), during Ideas, 2016 in Pakistan so what if we are getting closer contrary to turbulent relations in past.

@HRK @Khafee @Windjammer

If we recall France was named in Senate of Pakistan along Russia as options after recent F-16 saga ...

Maybe Dasault will provide PAF a package to update JF17 if they induct M2K9 from UAE, it's quite a big deal when PAF will buy training/ maintenance/weapons/spare parts.

I hope UAE could be very generous to PAF, as a stop gap M2K9 is very advisable choice to enhance PAF's squadrons strength in a short period of time.

I haven't read the full article yet, however until recently there were some hostile voices coming out of UAE towards Pakistan, but allegedly during this meeting, much was said and discussed. ( Check the body language)...If UAE decides to go for the Rafales, then it also has influence over France.

That's a Qatari Mirage, there were reports that Pakistan is also negotiating for these aircraft.

Hi,

It is all coming back in a circle----. It seems like I have not discussed about this topic for over 1 / 2 a decade on this website---.

Most new members would not know that I was the original proponent of the Emirati M2K9's for the Paf over here amongst all the negativity.

So---now that windy has dug out this news from somewhere---it has given a new life to the M2K scenario.

Now---what would that do to the power positioning of the Paf and Pak military---if they get the 50 of them---that would mean---the effect of approximately 1 full blooded armor and 1 full blooded infantry division & artillery divisions inducted in a heart beat---. That would be a crazy moment under the given scenario due to the immediate availability of 50 aircraft.

then turkey buying mushshak was? at one point even if your brother/ally product are not perfect, it's always a good move to give a hand. whatever those mirage are cheap or not, it's still a good product for a PAF with old mirage rdy to get throw to few african countries or in the bin

UAE Generous or not, we have to kept alive our options open.
Look, JF17 going to replaces all Mirage-III/IV/Rose like variants once and for all on day, So does it means;

1. Death to all Mirage related Re-build factories at Kamra?
2. Close-up of all French related fighter aircraft technologies to PAF?
3. Abandon all alive-contacts with French defense firms?

No way, We have to kept alive French tech line open one way or other, so it remains pouring-in PAF minds for good, like it did past 50 years. It is absolutely wise to have lot of options always.

Lets see what happens and if it does how etc .............

Hi,

You are a good kid---but trust me on this---as you have also admitted---you may not understand what these aircraft bring to the table and what power they project---.

So---for someone completing his masters and coming to the real world pretty soon---it would be a better question to ask---why is this aircraft so important---what makes this aircraft so potent---what is so potent about this aircraft that one of the most advanced air force in the region would induct it---.

And don't be mad at me for suggesting this---. It is easier to retort than to learn.

India Can Not stop Dassault.

But its just that the present " Single Engine Fighter " competition is not so straight as it seems.

There are offers from both Russia and France too.

From France I presume its refurbished 2nd hand Mirages.
france, hmm. i always though mirages should have been brought back in 2000s by india
even now 20 years air frame life for 30-40 million with support is good deal for india till it ramps up its 5th gen plans

Plus we can upgrade them anytime we want to J-10D standards also almost same weapons J-10 can carry which is carried by JF-17

IF JF-17 is able to carry all those ammunitions as J-10, then why to induct J-10 when JF-17 is able to release all ammo.

might be they are going to pay for this purchase as well same as the previous purchase of F-16 from Jordan ....
how come army is paying??? i hate book cooking, army is paid by pakistan govt, army doesnt earn a penny itslef

on side note: army mentality is still of 1960s, it tend to forgets that wars in this centuries will be decided within 1st 24hours between the respective air forces, skirmishes of course will be still old school artillery
