Even the Americans have admitted it will at bare minimum be as potent as the latest 4th gen fighters, heck, some of them consider it good enough to face off against the F-35. Compared to other 5th gen planes, of course it will lag behind the US, but the Chinese are faring much better than Russia in this category.
