China factor significant in India’s water war game

Why do Pakistanis hate Kashmiris so much?

Pakistanis should have big heart and have Kashmiris have some water to drink.

There are frequent protests in Kashmir as they do not have water to drink and all the water is being given to Pakistan.
Lol Nice Joke :haha::haha::haha:

In addition to China factor Pakistan has seriously consider war with India, if it stops Pakistans rivers. Incase of diverting rivers Pakistan should nuke India, as it has no other option.

pakistan had already planned to bomb indian dams and canals in case this happen.

Even though there isn't much Indian government can do about Indus treat, it shows their mentality towards Pakistan. Is this solution to terrorism. Actually, what he wants is 'Pakistan started the war rhetoric'.

There will be no need for all of this..just the economic cost to India as an unreliable country will be tremendous...Modi is like a broken record trumpeting non stop..after some days world leaders will begin to get fed up of him..which will have direct benefit to China as a sane, rational and responsible regional power...but offcourse in bollywood..India always wins..jaye shri modi jee...!

One can tell the sick mentality of Indians when one side talk about eradicating poverty and unemployment while on the other side they are calculation an option equivalent of medieval age siege of annihilation.

We can also use the 4 Million Afghanis as a potent weapon by forcing them to cross the LOC under gun point..

Stopping the water will be considered as an act of war. Pakistan will attack on the dams with full force because not doing so will kill many in Pakistan eventually.
For bombing you need to cross our airspace.. I don't think any Pakistani jet will survive till the dam

Even withdrawing from the Indus Water Treaty will be crossing a line which no Indian leadership has ever done since 1960, despite the lows of 1965, 1971, 1999 and many others. A population can live without cars or clothes but not without water.

Modi will be provoking Pakistan to a war and I am afraid there will be a war if India does indeed withdraw from the Treaty. I see no happy ending for India or Pakistan then. The whole Pakistan will be united to war against India. The gloves will be off and Indian cities bleed all the time. And so will Pakistani cities.

First & Foremost it is a River Flow not a Tap water where India can turn it On & OFF ... india would require to build Dams (Dozens of it) first in order to stop & consequentially store the continuous incoming flow of water ... it is such a Logistical nightmare that i can't even ...

IWT is arbitrated by World Bank so any significant violation will trigger its response & would result in bring a whole new string of issues to india for being the "Aggressor"

Pakistan with the population of 200 Million Population is already water scarce & should india even try to re-visit the treaty ...won't be able to win any additional leverages over the water it already have ...

The International Community won't let india get away with Water Scarce Pakistan ... as it would create a human tragedy.

the only significant threat is india try to tamper with the water flow provisions ... Pakistan is supposed to get no less than 80% of the Three Eastern Rivers and india can try to reduce tht share illegally .... Pakistan have to be aware of such tactics and bring it to world's notice whenever this happens .. Pakistan REALLY need to build its Dam at the earliest to keep water reserves in case of any untoward happening (these Dams eventually are a necessity given the Global Warming).

So in short india can gloat all it wants as it always does .. but imagining tht turning a Tap close, Pakistan will turn into a desert in a day and no one will bat an eye ... come on be Realistic ...... Oh wait we are talking about india .... Meri saadgi dekh kiya chata hoon !

PS: I have a very serious prediction that in coming 20-30 years if not less... a war over Indus River water is brewing ... regardless of india try to control the Indus water or not .... as Global warming will make water an scarcity and increasing population will compound the problem ... Pakistan would have to take serious action to control all the Six River of IWT & Keep Kabul River flowing ... and any provocation form india or Afghanistan is not gonna be of any help !!!

For bombing you need to cross our airspace.. I don't think any Pakistani jet will survive till the dam

Who says that we will send jets? Do we require jets to bomb your dams?

This is what BD should have done to Farakka and 53 other indian dams on international rivers entering BD but unfortunately we have indian slaves among us as leaders.
In 1970 Pak govt planned to build barrages on the Padma to counter Farakka. If it was done it'd have flooded a number of districts in the West Bengal. Indian govt budged and asked for talks. Pak govt said they're OK with talks but plans wil go ahead. Even tender was floated. No wonder proxies were immediately activated...

How much water India is using from Indus? Negligible.
India has other water sources.

India should divert Ravi, Chenab and Sutlej to Rajasthan desert, Use Indra Gandhi canal. All glaciers in Tibet are fed by moisture that passes from Indian airspace. India should use cloud seeding techniques to precipitate that moisture before reaching Tibet glaciers that feeds rivers like Brahmaputra. and Indus.

NEW DEHLI: As India mulls to revenge Uri attack by illegally stopping Pakistan's share of water promised under Indus Water Treaty, China's role in this saga holds significance.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting today (Monday) to discuss pros and cons of this unlawful action on the 1960 water treaty signed between India and Pakistan.

According to experts, in case India decides to stop Pakistan’s share, China could respond to this act by blocking River Indus and River Brahmaputra as both of them originate from there.

China has not signed international water sharing agreement, so it has no obligation to let the rivers flow.

If China came in Pakistan's support, and diverted the flow of River Indus, India could lose 36 percent of river water. Additionally, China also has the option of stopping the flow of Brahmaputra river into India. The Brahmaputra feeds millions in India and Bangladesh. China is building 11 mega dams on it and is in a position to hurt India's interests.

Blocking flow of Indus would also cause floods in Occupied Kashmir and Punjab in India.

Violating an international treaty backed by the World Bank, would invite condemnation from across globe putting India under immense pressure amid Kashmir violence.

Although personally I don't like the idea of blackmailing innocent population with water but about China, let me tell you couple of facts.

China is already diverting water from Tsangpo river.

An excerpt from wiki (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zangmu_Dam)
China's plans to construct a dam on the river are not without controversy. Reportedly, China had previously denied that they were constructing a dam on the Brahmaputra River, even after the contract was awarded. In April 2010, Yang Jiechi, their Foreign Minister, officially revealed that they were in fact constructing the Zangmu Dam on the river. China has assured India that the dam is "a small project which will not have any impact on the river's downstream flow into North-East India."[12][17][18][19] Indian officials such as the Arunachal Pradesh Power Minister Jabron Gamlin express that "China's constructing a dam is a cause of concern for us, but we are not certain how big this dam is and what affect it would have on people living downstream".[13] Reportedly, China has refused requests to reduce the height of the dam but the Indian Minister of External Affairs at the time, S. M. Krishna, had asserted that India was not concerned with the dam due to its run-of-the-river design.[20] The dam though is being "widely interpreted as a clear signal" that more dams on the river will be built in the future.[21] In January 2013 China approved three more dams on the river as part of its Twelfth Five Year Plan. The Dagu (640 MW) and Jiexu (560 MW) dams will be constructed upstream of Zangmu and the Jiacha Dam (320 MW) downstream.[22]..

After denying the existence of a plan they have changed their stance to "only a small dam" and slowly they will construct more.

As for diverting indus by China, one thing will be certain. Pakistan cannot blame india any more cause it would be china stopping the water flow.

Chinese are surreptitious people who were better under japanese rule.

India should divert Ravi, Chenab and Sutlej to Rajasthan desert, Use Indra Gandhi canal. All glaciers in Tibet are fed by moisture that passes from Indian airspace. India should use cloud seeding techniques to precipitate that moisture before reaching Tibet glaciers that feeds rivers like Brahmaputra. and Indus.

You better search for wind current directions across china and take back your words !

On the stopping water to Pakistan, Indians will be the first to oppose. Modi has made it clear that we have enmity with Pakistan's establishment and not with Pakistani people.

I really hope what ur saying is true, if not, war is coming baby :yahoo:
