Can someone please identify the weapon in the weapon in the below video? Seems to be some sort of CIWS to me.

It appears Iran is looking to purchase them from Russia.

If it is a CIWS, I hope they don't buy it and instead push on with the indigenous 20 mm CIWS. Or at least, they get licensed production of this CIWS.

As far as I remember there were some news about Iranian made phalanx to be manufactured which was under tests ...

Saw this meeting a few days ago on ruptly, hopefully this video will answer your question

"High-ranking representatives of the Iranian Armed Forces were shown military hardware at the Scientific-Technical Centre Impulse in Sevastopol, Thursday.

The two forces were given the chance to exchange opinion on defence technologies. Iranian officers were given a demonstration of the combat computer-generated modules designed for maritime and land-based operations and other defence equipment."

Exactly it looks like its just a demonstrator for another remote controlled weapons mounting,which is something iran can produce itself

It is not CIWS, some sort remote-controlled turret that I forgot the name for armored vehicles. Probably for 'Uran' UGV.

Just as I thought... Not very recent.

Do you think they will literally try to copy the Phalanx in using the M61 Vulcan gun (presumably copied from the guns the F-4 and F-14 use)?

I wonder how this whole thing will go. I have no idea how long it would take to develop a CIWS.
