Shakeel Afridi’s fate to be decided by Pakistani courts: Nisar

Yeah he was and for that he is behind bars. Deal with it.

"...Pakistani officials initially said Afridi would be tried for treason for helping the United States, but court documents showed he was jailed for being a member of a militant group, Lashkar-e-Islam."

So, come and save him? GI Joe style. What is stopping you?

LOL @ this fool. He is a member of a militant group. That's even a bigger reason to jail the terrorist.

Why are you supporting a member of a banned militant group?

Why aren't you doing that? Why aren't you fighting for justice in your own country?

Anything to divert attention from the fact that Pakistan wants aid by the billions for being an "ally" while jailing the person who helped locate OBL hiding in the very same country. Talk about national schizophrenia!

What a hypocritic attitude Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai and Jonathan Pollard conveniently forgotten. Talk about national hypocrisy and double standards being shown here by the Americans

I already am. He deserves to be locked up. Justice served.

Why don't you fight for justice in your country? Let Snowden come back? Let him live his life in his own country? He doesn't deserve exile for exposing the truth. The same story for Bradley i.e. Chelsea Manning.

First give justice to Jonathan pollard and Ghulam nabi fai for their crime was, they helped ally nations. Then worry about a foreign national .

Pakistan should have executed the guy straightaway or should have just let him go. Putting him in prison, or executing him now after all these years will further dent the image of Pakistan.

We don't care. We are going to make an example out of this guy and we're going to do it in front of the whole world. This traitor collaborated with a rouge foreign secretive agency and he didn't even regret it. In fact, he is boastful. Pakistan isn't CIA's playground and we cannot allow this to become a precedent. We're not going to hang him nor inject him. He is going to die a slow and painful death in a prison cell. He is going to rot for a very very long time.

US should give 100 F16s free to Pakistan in exchange for Dr. Afridi if his release is so important for Americans.

Please do keep in mind which way the billions of dollars flow. Pakistan is of course free to decide what it wants to do with Dr. Afridi, as long it is prepared to pay the price, which will only increase with time. That is all. This is not a morality competition but a pursuit of national interests.

:D brave ones don't care for dents. BTW I think we should trade him for some valued equipment

Weren't you just a moment ago saying that American taxpayers are paying billions to Pakistan? Why are you now reminding us that Pakistan ought to be aware of this money? We don't care about American bribe dollars. Please keep this bribe money to yourself.

For us it is a matter of principle now. Instead of helping the Pakistani institutions this rabid dog accepted with hindsight to help a rogue foreign agency. You expect the Pakistanis to shut their eyes and forgive this traitor? Think again.

Well if someone breaks law of nation they are guilty , the Dr Aided foreign state against Government of Pakistan.

If he was honest he would have collaborated with Military and Government and indicated what he was doing he was basically a SPY

So-called principles on sale, yet again? :D

This is my personal opinion. You may call it whatever suits you but I personally feel if US pressurise us anyway to get him release then why we should not trade him wisely.

There are no principles in international politics simple as that.
