ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Interior Minister Ch. Nisar Ali Khan says the fate of Shakeel Afridi is going to be decided by Pakistani courts, and not by any US presidential candidate.

He was reacting to the interview of US presidential candidate Donald Trump on Fox News.

The Minister said that contrary to Mr Trump’s misconception, Pakistan is not a colony of the United States. He should learn to treat sovereign countries with respect.

He said that Shakeel Afridi is a Pakistani citizen and nobody else has the right to dictate to us about his future.

“Contrary to Mr Trump’s misconception, Pakistan is not a colony of the United States of America. He should learn to treat sovereign countries with respect.”

“Trump also seems to be ignorant, historically, of the huge scarifies Pakistan and its people have made while standing with or supporting US policies over the years.”

Trump had also said he planned to leverage US aid, “because we give a lot of aid to Pakistan. We give a lot of money to Pakistan.”

He said Donald Trump also seems to be ignorant historically of the huge scarifies Pakistan and its people have made, while standing with or supporting US policies over the years.

On Saturday, Senate chairperson Mian Raza Rabbani also lashed out at Trump for his remarks, saying Pakistan is a sovereign country and will not succumb to dictations.

and this is the reason why they stopped the delivery of F-16's.

If this person is guilty then the prosecution should have no problem give the guy his sentence and present him to the hangman. But keeping him in jail for a lengthy period is a waste of oxygen and food to keep him their. unless he will be used for some gains which is not possible either so the option of the gallows should be used soon as possible. But knowing how senile and incompetent the judicial system is we can see hem wasting away oxygen!

Just for 1 shakeel afridi do you really think americans care about him? they stopped it because of indian lobby i think it's obvious by now @django
Agreed they could not give two hoots about this overweight swine, it's the Indian lobby plus saving a few million dollars.kudos

i think its already done

That would be great, since Dr. Afridi's sentence was overturned by Pakistani courts three years ago! Nevertheless, he remains in jail. They haven't even scheduled a new trial for him. Since his conviction has been thrown out and the state isn't willing to press charges, isn't the issue now one of wrongful imprisonment?

Why do you suddenly care about a jailed Pakistani citizen? There are hunderds and thousands of them. Never seen you get so sentimental for their plight.

Now don't act like you don't know what happened. Afridi broke the law by cooperating with a foreign secretive agency. What would the Americans do if an American citizen broke the law by cooperating with a Pakistani secret agency? Probably torture and lock in a cell for life.

Same rules apply to Guantanamo prisoners?

How about Snowden? When will he be allowed to return to the US? All he did was expose the truth. Why is he being punished in exile?

And why should the issue be about me, rather than Dr. Afridi?

Wrong answer. Not answered any of my questions. Let me pose it again:

Why do you suddenly care about a jailed Pakistani citizen? There are hundreds and thousands of them. Never seen you get so sentimental for their plight.

Now don't act like you don't know what happened. Afridi broke the law by cooperating with a foreign secretive agency. What would the American authorities do if an American citizen broke the law by cooperating with a Pakistani secret agency? Probably torture and lock up in a cell for life.

Anything to divert attention from the fact that Pakistan wants aid by the billions for being an "ally" while jailing the person who helped locate OBL hiding in the very same country. Talk about national schizophrenia!

... Afridi broke the law by cooperating with a foreign secretive agency -
Really? He wasn't put on trial for that, nor is there any prospect of him being put on trial for that.

Who are you? Haqqani's family member? You certainly sound like him.

As for the billions in aid. Why don't you just do us all a favor and stop this aid for once and for all? What is forcing you to keep paying this American taxpayers money to Pakistan and complaint and whine at every forum? It's your government that keeps doling out the taxpayers money to Pakistan!!! Pakistan cannot force you to give it to them. Stop acting like a pathetic victim.

As for the OBL drama. LOL Give me a break. The biggest lie in the history of mankind. Even prominent Americans themselves question the narrative. How could this have been possible near a military vicinity with a chopper going down in flames, gun shots everywhere, people screaming and being killed and no one taking any notice? This too for hours. You need to come up with something better. Sounds like a B grade movie with too many loose ends.

Really? He wasn't put on trial for that, nor is there any prospect of him being put on trial for that.

Yeah he was and for that he is behind bars. Deal with it.
