Pakistan successfully tests indigenous drone Burraq and Barq laser guided missile

This laser guided missile has been in the works since long.

Cobras are already able of fire baktar Shikans (see old ISPR video of Cobras firing BS ATGMS while in the move).

@DESERT FIGHTER i have seen that video, but those were not F & F. Cobra pilot have to constantly guide the ATGM to target as it was wire guided Bakter Shikan.

Guys you all should visit Indian Defence Forums and read Indian comments about this development

Seriously,u believe that statement??

"Technically Pakistanis are more capable than Indians - which is clearly visible in any field one might care to look at."
I would be interested if u can name just one such field.

I was talking to someone yesterday here about this test and this same topic. If Pakistan is given the money or has the money (which shouldn't be an issue starting 2018), Pakistan and India match each others capabilities. Obviously, India would win because of he larger talented population, resulting in a much larger economy and money to play with, but technology for technology, they can match.

The quantity Pakistan would need for product X would be obviously much lesser than the quantity required for India. But both have same genetics and talent so its all about the $$$$ and availability of the technology.

By the way, underestimating Pakistan isn't correct. You forgot, they've managed to surprise the world (and India), way too many times. Hint: this thread and then the cruise missile development in the last decade. So you can't say the Pakistanis mentally inferior, both of you have the same mental ability genetically. But $$$$ for R&D are the main differentiators at this time.

but technology for technology, they can match.

Sure they can.
By similar logic if u give india the same amount of money as say r&d of usa we can start innovating in the same speed like usa provided we can offer good insentives to people to immigrate to india too.

I never meant pakistan is inferior, the poster whom i quoted was implying that pakistan is ahead.

A chicken can ONLY lay so many eggs every month. Similarly, a few more chickens can lay so many more eggs, you can't expect to feed the chicken more and expect eggs every hour. More money doesn't turn into more "needs"...Common logic.
Basic economic principles tell you resources are always scarce, whether it is the US or something else.

So if India is given the R&D money of the US. You can't start to "invent" stuff beyond where the current technology and systems take you. For example, majority of the inventions have already happened. Naval Ships, Aircraft Carriers, Submarines, Fast Flying Jets, Missiles, Anti-Missile Systems, UCAVs, Spaceships, and all. If you really examine drones, what you'll realize is that it's not something new, its WWII era warfare (slow moving aircraft with limited BUT effective fire power), coming back with more modernization and reduction in size and pilots, due to the current technological advances. But there is no new "invention" here.

Same control systems (obviously with much less complexity), that were used in Radio Controlled Toys like Cars and Planes, in early 70's for kids are being used here. So the world isn't necessarily "inventing". The world is modernizing, for that whether you are India or China or the US, you still have to come up with a priority list on what's important. In that context, and in Indo-Pak context, both the nations with ability to have funds, can match each other in capability. Indian needs and quantity requirements will be much more than Pakistan, due to her size, population and strategic needs.

There is always something new on the horizon......................always.

Something tells me you'd silly argue with all all day long!! There is always something new, yes, BUT that new has to be justified by a need to invest in. You don't drop your billions on silly, aimless research without a goal. That was the point. The goal has to be there to invest into.
Could there be gold on Jupiter? May be, does it make sense for a country like India or Pakistan to invest into futuristic space ships which would take the mining equipment (very heavy), people and and mine Jupiter's surface? Absolutely a waste of money as you are limited by "today's system" of what you could do with limited money. In this case, both the countries have hundred of millions of people who can't get proper beds to sleep on. But going to mine Jupiter is probably the stupidest idea. Is it still out there on the Horizon? Yea. Can you do it just by pouring your R&D money into it? NO!

What a pointless paragraph.
No idea what u are trying to establish here?

Does usa have a right to spend billions on research while india and pakistan etc do not?

Someone once told me, if you argue with an idiot, he'll bring you down to his level and will beat you with experience. So that was my last response to your silly posts. The USA is a WHOLE different system than India and Pakistan. Over the two decades, India and Pakistani systems need to ensure their people have better lifestyles and living conditions. After that, you can afford to start R&D luxury. USA already established its people's base living standards many decades ago, so she can afford "luxury" research. Even THAT has priorities too, nothing is freely done. Take a look at the JSF for example, we are cutting the orders down as it'll be too expensive for us to buy, due to R&D money spent in it, that at this point, may not be a part of our priorities beyond a certain number. But will the USAF like to replace every single jet below -15 with the JSF and everything at or above the -15, with the Raptor? Hell yes. But we, like everyone else, are limited by our system of needs and wants!

Stay on topic please folks. Anything to do with burning, paint jobs and other assorted nonsense will result in deletion.

very nice development.we should produce them in heavy numbers.so much that will be a strategic nightmare for enemy
