China to invest $20 billion in India in next 5 years, much less than Japan's offer of $35 billion - TOI Mobile | The Times of India Mobile Site

what action are we talking abt here?Atleast they don't bomb our civilians and kill our soldiers which U.S has been doing and they are still your 'friends' .

With all due respect, I don't think it is India's choice to resolve outstanding border issues with China right now even if she wanted to.

From what I can understand, the Chinese simply have been toying with India to resolve the issues but not going to do anything about it seriously.

And why would they? They benefit enormously by keeping Indian border constantly on the boil and forcing her to drain resources on maintaining forces along the border (thereby taking India's focus away from economic development).

The gap between them and us is only going to get widened in the near future and the more they wait, the better position they will be to get a better deal in any future settlement.

Think China wants peace with India so it doesn't have another enemy when facing other countries on the east side.

Desperate posts! What can I say.

China today said it is ready to make concerted efforts with India to lift their bilateral strategic cooperative partnership to a higher level as they pursue a great dream of national rejuvenation.

Greeting India on its 66th Republic Day, Chinese President Xi Jinping, in a message to President Pranab Mukherjee, said China is delighted with India’s achievements in its development.

Both China and India, as two ancient civilisations, are pursuing a great dream of national rejuvenation, he said.

Xi said China is willing to make concerted efforts with India to lift their strategic cooperative partnership oriented to peace and prosperity to a higher level this year which marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

In his message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said in recent years, China and India have kept a stronger momentum in joining hands for cooperation and seeking common development.

China is ready to work with India to deepen their mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields and build a closer partnership of development, he said

So now IDRW posts are serious news? @Horus

I believe India is bright enough to draw closer to US and be wary of China. US never interfere with India after its independence, China invaded India in 1962.

Though US still supply Pakistan weapons, U.S. also sell many high tech weapons to India. US can help India with engine development, missile development, and space exploration. China does not have the capabilities anywhere close to US. Even if they do, would India trust them to work with them. So between US and China, the choice for India is clear.

Think China wants peace with India so it doesn't have another enemy when facing other countries on the east side.

That's too simplistic a view. The Chinese are comfortable in the knowledge that Indians won't indulge in any misadventures at a time when India is just getting back on track for growth and China herself is brimming with confidence at her own economic/military prowess.

The Chinese think (with some degree of truth) that they can handle Indians on their side of the border if it ever comes to that. Realistically speaking, Indian democracy doesn't pose threat to their territorial integrity the way Pakistan does to India wrt Kashmir.

Moreover, there is simply no rush for Chinese to settle the border since status quo suits them just fine -- just the way it suits India when dealing with Pakistan. The difference in military/economic might between China and India is only going get bigger -- thereby handing them a decisive advantage in any future settlement.

If China really wanted peace, I am sure they would have got it by now -- not indulge in trespassing into Indian territory right at the time their president was in India.

Well if public statements really are important and will bring about change in the future, India and Pakistan are ready to become peaceful, brotherly nations, we'll see an end to the hostile relations between the EU and Russia, and the US will make sure there are democratic and secular governments in place in Syria to replace Assad.

Well we will see...as the President say, they are now ready.

That has been their modus operandi for a long time now! Continue to talk to India while letting PLA to pin prick Indian positions at the borders.

From India's POV, I think it is the price she has to pay for being relatively weak.

whose true flag yours or mine, you don't even have a flag buddy.

Answer the question. I dont know where my flags are, but I have been here long enough for Indian posters to know who I am and what I represent. Again, your previous statement revealed your fake flags buddy.

Too much faith in CHina without realizing what is the ground reality. China's goes to extraordinary lengths to present a certain PR and picture to the world. India doesn't.

It is not about faith in China, but the ground reality that comes with having such a huge economy. The Chinese only want to keep India on the edge and not let the border settle any time soon. India only has got to accept this and continue to work at strengthening her own economy while maintaining some form of deterrence against the Chinese.

And I am not sure if China cares about PR all that much if you consider their handling of affairs in South China Sea.

A huge base to middle and upper middle class. India has lot of common thing for China. What Pakistan can offer. No petrol, no electricity, Taliban, Hafiz.

And above all India has democracy. Something India like to brag about above all.
