Netanyahu invited to address Congress on Iran - Israel News, Ynetnews


House Speaker John Boehner invited Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress next month and discuss the threat from Iran.

"In this time of challenge, I am asking the Prime Minister to address Congress on the grave threats radical Islam and Iran pose to our security and way of life," Boehner said in a statement.

Netanyahu had accepted the invitation, an Israeli official said, adding that the prime minister was exploring the possibility of meeting with Obama during the visit.

Boehner, in a statement Wednesday, also is rebuffing President Barack Obama's call for Congress to delay new penalties against Iran over its nuclear program.

Boehner says Netanyahu is quite capable of addressing that issue.

The trip would be five weeks before Israel's March 17 elections and could give Netanyahu a boost with voters at home and help him underscore his main campaign theme that he is best placed to tackle regional security threats.

I'm confused, who is the US President? Obama or Netanyahu? A foreign leader is coming to direct of foreign policy. How shameful of our Congress members who allow Israel to use our country as base to support their interests due to their religious beliefs/hatred.

The White House criticized on Wednesday the manner in which House Speaker John Boehner invited Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to speak before Congress.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest told reporters in a daily briefing that the invite was "a departure from protocol," adding that "such invitations are usually made leader to leader."

Boehner said earlier on Wednesday that he did not consult with the White House about inviting Netanyahu to speak, nor update the administration before he sent the invite or released a statement on the matter.

Spokesman Earnest said that the White House has yet to speak with the Prime Minister's Office about the possibility a U.S. visit and a meeting with President Barack Obama. "We will reserve judgment on the trip until we hear from Israel officially," he said.

Not really Pakistan, Chinese relationship is mutually beneficial. Israel, to us is like the spoiled brat last born child. We get nothing from them but headaches and lost international credibility, prestige and integrity. Israel has no resources and no manpower. We partner with them on a few things that we could just as easily partner with anyone else. We would be just fine if they didn't exist. The irony is that there are countries that we are politically at odds with like China, Russia and Venezuela, yet our economically ties to these countries far surpass our ties to our 'ally' israel. Tens of thousands of Americans are gainfully employed because we trade with these countries even though we disagree politically. That is more valuable than political alliances with countries like israel which, benefit no one except war profiteers. Although we disagree with Iran politically (not that we should care how other countries conduct their affairs) economically we would be much better off doing business with them, just like we do in China, Russia and Venezuela. There are 80 million potential customers that we could be doing business with but we aren't because of sanctions. Alot of money and jobs could be made that aren't being made so we also hurt ourselves with sanctions. Why do we do it? Because, jewish interests own this country. They own the media and they own all political parties. For over a century jews have wielded enormous influence in American politics, media and finance and concurrently we have been fighting wars upon wars with no end.

Inviting nutteryahoo to address congress is just another stunt by the warmongering, jew fawning repukes because Obama said he will veto any more sanctions against Iran (one of the few things I agree with him on). The repukes want to leave no doubt which party is the biggest whore of the chosenites. They want to ramp up the war rhetoric and Nutteryahoo is all to eager to comply..

I am quite astonished to hear such comments from American residents.
So far till now,the US intellects have been complaining that why a hindrance/resistance is that much observed b/w US and Pakistan?their polls are quite disappointing. One of US military professional @jhungary also addressed me same complain and I respect him but unable to discuss complete reason. I believe that US relationship with Israel appears as major hindrance and media is acting as key role to earn some ratings along with it.(vice versa)
Look,US enjoys relationship with Israel or not? It appears to us that (impression upon general Pakistani subject) that US is actual supporter of Israel and it was reflected over Iron dome scenario weapon which cost around billions- is made possible to be deployed in Israel because of American support.
What I am trying to say is that warfare alliance thingy is causing loss to US in other foreign matters. US must balance her foreign policy towards Israel and US needs to at least change such impression and show world that US knows how to balance her relationship towards Israel and US can never be dominated by any country.
