Imran Khan faces wrath of protesting parents as he arrives at APS

PESHAWAR: Parents of children martyred in the Peshawar attack protested against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Thursday as he arrived at the Army Public School, Express News reported.

The PTI chief, who was accompanied by his wife Reham Khan, was forced to turnaround as mournful parents protested, overcome by grief and anger, refused to let him inside the premises of the school.

However, according to Express News, Imran managed to enter the school through a separate entrance.

Imran was earlier advised to postpone his visit to the army-run school as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif had to visit the school the same day.

“You were busy getting married without doing anything about my child who died less than a month ago,” said a weeping mother, outside the school, while another parent said the PTI chief had deserted them when they needed him the most.

Further, Imran was criticised for not doing anything despite being elected as a member of national assembly from the province.

Although I'm not a supporter of IK I think it was wrong for people to treat him that way. The Army Chief wanted to go alone and do his point scoring

Unfortunate. This was bound to happen, IK should have been more vocal and activ following APS tragedy, this miscalculation has allowed aNP to seize the chance to ridicule him and PTI.

The number of protesters although vocal, are very small. We have seen this before. Now that is not to detract from the fact the Those grieving parents have a point, IK should have foreseen this.

PTI has their work cut out for them now.

Urging the PTI chief not to politicise the Peshawar attack, a protester said, “We do not need anyone, whether it’s Imran Khan or Nawaz Sharif.”

“Imran came after one month to visit the school because he was busy with his wedding,” he added angrily, claiming Imran should be ashamed of himself.

Further, Imran was criticised for not doing anything despite being elected as a member of national assembly from the province.

Meanwhile, the PTI has announced that their provincial information minister will shortly hold a press conference to “expose those behind today’s incident.”

Grabbing the opportunity to lash out at PTI chairman Imran Khan, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid said what Imran had to face today was reminiscent of his style of politics against the PML-N.

“The nation chanted ‘Go Imran Go,’ today because Imran introduced them to these chants,” he said. He added that the chants against the PML-N made no difference to them, but they should matter to Imran since they are coming from mournful parents who have lost their children.

he came to school the day it happen. school was closed. School opened on monday. army chief delayed his visit. he came on wednesday. what kind of stupid statement is this .

It's something that struck me too - the timing. It's such incredible bad timing to decide to plan your marriage & work on it when just a few days have passed since this most tragic of incidents. Especially for someone like Imran Khan who is busy telling others that they must be ready for many sacrifices in the struggle for Naya Pakistan. He couldn't wait?

Again I said to Mr Imran Khan - KHATAK MUST MUST RESIGN!!!!!! Imran Khan is a party chairman, his party ruling on KPK. His CM is RESPONSIBLE! directly responsible... About lady who is shouting over Imran Khan is basically a mother of someone... she is emotional and not capable to understand any YES NO BLA BLA bakwaas... Imran Khan and Nawaz Sharif both arrived on the same day of Massacre but again.. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE ? definitely CM. Like Lahore CM of Model Town, CM of KPK must resign @ any cost. For political score maybe opponents of Imran Khan send their workers on Shuda forum but again... PTI CM is responsible.

Yes he should have waited he have chossen the worst timing of his marrriage when parents are still in grief i already predicted that happening to him they just need some time to cool down.

Bhai, I am also PTI supporter but not the blind one. Pardon me but this is not an incident for which you or any other PTI supporter should be grabbing credit. This is a wake up call for IK to get his act together and make his KPK government to do the needful. People are injured, psychologically more than physically, they are not interested in lip service anymore. This incident could have been averted had this inapt CM Khattak had apologized publicly for his and his government failure and resigned from his post. He was not there even during the COAS's visit to APS yesterday. It is not that he was prevented from coming, for the ANP officials where there. It is time to smell the coffee my dear PTIan friend.

Their anger is understandable, but that was not the proper way. IK was there right after the attack, was one of the first politicians to reach there. He also wanted to be there when school reopened, but at army's request, he delayed his visit.

His marriage is his personal affair, has nothing to do with anything else. He delayed his marriage due to Peshawar attack for a whole month, what more they want? Also claiming that IK visited school after one month, was the school open during past month?

Bullsh!t, IK let go of NA-1 seat, Ghulam Bilour of ANP re-elected from there in by-elections. IK holds NA-56 seat from Rawalpindi. Since when Rawalpindi is belonged to KPK?

I know it's difficult for political workers like you who always looks for conspiracies to justify the incompetence, corruption and showbaazis of your leaders but still try to put yourself in shoes of the people who lost their dear ones and try to imagine your feelings for people who are sympathizers of killers?

COAS was right to not meet him. Only a few months ago he was accusing the honourable COAS of accepting BMW as a bribe from Nawaz Sharif. Then he has been indirectly supporting Taliban for the past 6 years. If I was the COAS, I wouldn't meet him either. Especially not with that Tango dancing wife of his. They need to stop acting like kings and queens.
