Gentlemen and good people,

A news item is circulating in the media----america is having 2nd thoughts about its nuclear deal with india. Doubts have been raised in the american camp that india may not provide securities and guarantees in its committment to support U S of A after the product has been delivered.

There are concerned people on both the sides and if india does not take the initiative to provide guarantees, this deal might yet be shelved.

A very good news, Shows how India does not allow US to dictate terms

There are simply no benefits for the U.S to offer anything to India. As long as Russia can provide everything to India, they will simply not move an inch.

U.S should just take that deal back, because regardless of whatsoever.. India has to get IPI pipeline.

Webby do you think the IPI is a real deal? I think its a non starter.

As for the nuke deal, the importance was the intend shown by US in offering such a deal to India. The offer has bought back a lot of goodwill and cheer to the long sour Indo-US relationships. Even if India rejects the deal or US withdraws the deal, the good has been done.

yeah i agree this has really highlited the soring relationship between India And the US. but we should also give credit to musharraf he didnt over react at all and i think we now moving towards more nuclear reactors with China.

Hi,

It has been a bad year for america all the way. Even third world nations like india that america boosted, to where it is now, are telling them to shove it deep. Americans would slowly but certainly realize that the indians are not going to be rheir 'bi--h'. These americans have been so used to us pakistani's doing their work that they assumed that they could do the indians for a few reactors. Oh well----what has the world come down to. Till yesterday the americans were making fun of the red dot---the hindu religious symbol and now----!

I remember when that deal was inked, everybody and anybody in pakistan was screaming murder and wanted the head of Pervaiz Musharraf. Time is a great equalizer.

And the US. but we should also give credit to musharraf he didnt over react at all and i think we now moving towards more nuclear reactors with China.

In all honesty, musharraf and his administration were screaming bloody murder. That this would upset the 'balance' of the region, and Pakistan too wants a nuclear deal and what not. Infact right on the day, in the press conference with Musharraf, Musharraf asked Bush for having 'parity' with India. Bush replied that different countries have different needs and their history has to eb taken into account.

Then, Pakistan was expected to sign a number of agreements on nuclear plants with China when Hu Jintao came, that didnt happen either.

Well India never said 'get the hell out' to US. It was a understanding that enguslfed southblock and Whitehouse that has cooled off the deal.

India nknows it can use/have US and its allies especiially Japan to act as a counter weight against China. So India is in no position to spoil the relationship with US.

Hi,

Japan is no counterweight to china. They know very well that china has to settle the old score, so the japanese would never give the chinese the oppurtunity. I want to say that it is absolutely absurd to assume that japan would stand upto chinese millitarily. Japan has no offensive capability against a nation like china and that also to protect the interest of a country like the U S of A. What do you think----japan is pakistan!

Malay, Musharraf had reacted to the local populace's reaction on the deal. All the political parties were crying and whimpering about the deal. Even at that time it was visible that such deals take a long time in the making and there was a good chance that things may go sour.

I also want to say that India is nobody's 'bit-h' ( except for pakistan). It cannot be slapped around at random or at the discretion of the powers to be. So, even at this stage when the deal is facing a major hurdle, it seems like the america's will, might be bent. America might succumb to its industrial might and the nuclear deal may go through. At times like these one wonders, ' is the wheel round----or are there some places where the square wheel is still being used'. It is not a flat playing field anymore.

MastanKhan,

Japan would stand up, They have been showing political defience to China for some time by PM Abe, Their Navy is far more powerful than Chinese, Heck they are even better than the Indians.Japan can become a full-blown military powerhouse, the only thing that is holding them back is their own political will. Japan is an Economic powerhouse and will stay so for the forseeable future. They are integrated well with the United States Military might. US military protects Japan, not the other way around. India is gathering its political powerss to handle the future chinese threat.USN and Japanese Navy are the best partners in the region now.

I am sure US and India will have to bend together, India needs the US as much the US needs India.

Hi,

.

I hope you are talking about Carlos Mencia, He was calling that 'dot' a hidden camera...lol

Adux,

You saw that skit. It was hilarious.

Webby do you think the IPI is a real deal? I think its a non starter..

You are correct in your thinking about IPI deal,it can never happin if the indians are involved.Pakistan is better getting the gas for there own economy and making the deal the iran/pakistan/china pipeline.

The deal will go through.
