Pakistan up to something big, Army informs Antony

Indian-administered Kashmir risks a return to militancy and violent protests if New Delhi fails to push a stalled peace process in the disputed region, one of the state’s most influential separatist leaders said on Tuesday.

The rapist and murderer of kashmiri pandits Yasin malik is saying this only on the orders of his handlers in Pak. Most of the terrorists in and around the valley have been neutralised. Now the single largest source is terrorists infiltrating from Pak under rangers cover fire. The people of valley want peace.

Malik said, before rolling up his trousers to show what he said were the marks of torture by Indian security forces.

The security forces do not torture at a place which cn be shown in public. Only his Pak wife would have expressed dismay at it.

Everthing he is saying points to Pak's desire for resumption of peace process by putting pressure through kashmir front.

i am surprised when you people stat negaving angelic and beatific!!

We know you people cant do 'wrong' and 'bad' stuff ;)

With all due respect Xeric, after reading the report wat we may conclude is Mr Anthony is speculating that 'something big' might be going on.From the report wat we come to know is the terrorists used a different approach. They purposefully attacked a vast portion of fence instead of just trying to crossover the fence.Maybe the terrorists r planning to enter Indian territory in large number after they successfully neutralise a part of the fence.

This shows a shift in the strategy employed.Maybe by 'something big' he means this change in strategy only.

Cmon it doesnt always have to be something as big as a nuke to cause speculations. One has to be cautious always.Afterall mistakes in this matter may cost human lives.
Lolz....

Mr Anthony is not just speculating but extrapolating it up!

Especially when we have no reason to fiddle up with another 'enemy' while we are already committed elsewhere (actually we dont have a super army that can fight in two fronts ;))

If we go by your media 'incursions' have been happening for quite some time now and on regular basis, why would your Minister found it appropriate to vent out his frustration just after your COAS' statement?

And now, the follow up statements like; "Pakistan is going to open up Kashmir front again". Isnt it a bit stereotyped?

You can't be serious about it...Politicians are known for giving vague statements b/w how do you know Defense Minister knows exactly what Big is exactly they are dealing with???? I think it is a mere assessment based on calculation of the threat perception, some intelligence inputs and probably changes in the tactics of infiltrators...

Well yes he better know before he opens his mouth, or else he is going to get you in trouble as your general did recently.

Policticians are well calculated people and we dont expect layman type statements from them. They would vent out something that would create a new issue altogether and you say that you would spare him for that!! How strange can that be??

I wonder if this is something that might just happen..:

0800 hours
An Indian COMINT officer sits listening attentively to his speakers. Monitoring a tapped Pakistani telephone line. Suddenly a chill runs through his spine, he drop the headphones to report to his OC.

=============0805 hours==============
"Sir, confirmed reports of major Pakistani movement in Shakargarh sector sir. Possible preemptive incursion imminent"

The Indian colonel takes a deep breath.."Size of force and target?"

"Not confirmed but may be division sized sir!! target said to be east within 15 minutes!"..the young cominf officers says nervously.

"Alright..resume your scanning, Ill contact command".

====0830 hours..On secure com link to Indian division command ==

"Its confirmed sir"

"Are you sure?" Inquires the general

"Absolutely, We expect the assault to begin within 30 minutes or so. I am not sure how they slipped our radar sir but I cannot emphasize enough the graveness of the threat"..The colonel uttered with confidence dripping from his words.

"Alright..thank you. keep monitoring, Ill ask for an aerial survey"

=====0840 hours========
Indian defense minister receives the news while reading the morning news.
Within 10 minutes the Indian Forces are on high alert, The Airforce is forming strike packages. Strike and holding divisions are moving out. while tentative plans to recall reserves are being studied.

==Earlier that day==0800 hours==in the Headphones of the Indian COMINT officer============================================

Pakistani Colonel "Javed is the prep finalized?Ive just spoken to the Generals ADC"

"Yes sir, The men are moving east towards the location as we speak"

"Good, We have been planning this for months, lets not disappoint..are you in touch with the other elements?"

"Absolutely Sir, It will be a complete surprise. We already have the advantage of time....."(Indian operator drops his phones and rushes to his CO)

"Ok.. So once again.. You will move the stage to the east so the the bride and groom dont get cold and I want the flowers to look like a star. Tell the caterers to make Malai Tikkas because the general loves them and I want..."

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl: ..........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................:rofl:

You missed the point...I am not saying that Mr Antony got a dream and started speaking about something "Big" part...I was saying that generally politicians give vague statement so that they can not be held to a corner later on....
They would vent out something that would create a new issue altogether and you say that you would spare him for that!! How strange can that be??

Please don't take it out of context.. I was replyin to your comment regarding politicians in general...As far Mr. Antony statement is concerned it is a repeat of what Army Officer said in the same paragraph...Obviously indian establishment don't exactly know what this big means that's why phrase of "Something Big" is used....As stated before multiple factors can be responsible for this statement...

May be out of the scope of this discussion but would like to know what trouble our general got us into???? His comments did cause lot of excitement on the other side of the border but nothing much apart from that...

@deckingraj
What do you think of this heading? Isnt this one 'inappropriate'? :)

:) No it is not...Because heading is very much in synch with what Malik is saying....As far as "Pakistan upto something Big" that one was picked because of sensational effects whereas the content don't revolve around something big part....

I hope i clarified to your satisfaction.....

Exactly it is sensalization as far as heading is concerned...I call it inappropriate you call it media ethics...

Suit yourself :)

No not really..I am just sharing my POV however seems like you are reading too much into it because all defense minister is saying that something big might happen so be ready for it....

Exactly!

Your minister is also reading too much into it, he could have used some milder words to enlighten us all about the issue as you have been doing previously, or may be not, off lately!

Again this is typical India-Pak attitude...NO matter what leaders from opposite side says we can find meanings from it that suits us....Few days back Zardari said that we will fight for Kashmir for 1000 years...i am sure that would have not have been taken as war mongering in Pakistan and something to be appreciated...

i love the sugarcoat!

When it comes to your side of the border it is becomes 'just a thought', 'speculation' and 'preemptive actions', but when it lands inside our borders, you see those terror camps with naked eyes!! How delightful!

All of you statements are out of context and thus giving entirely different picture than what they were intented for....It seems like you have some pre-conceived notion against india and thus painting more than what these statements are about... Since don't want to derail the thread so not going into details and sticking to the topic

Well, with you leaders and top brass issuing vague, useless and far fetched statements i have to 'pre-conceive' my notions, that's natural.

Fact remains a fact, how sugarcoated it may be, the bitterness finds its way up, that's again natural.

There is always something more than the eye meets my dear :)

:) i think you missed the 'statement' in the news:

Pakistan up to something big, Army informs Antony- Politics/Nation-News-The Economic Times

Pakistan up to something big, Army informs Antony
The Army informed the minister about the ongoing operations against militants. They referred to the encounter in a Pulwama village in which one militant was killed. Reports said another militant who was besieged had actually fled. Reports from Jammu suggested that a senior Army officer in the unified headquarters meeting told the defence minister that “Pakistan is up to something big” and “we need to know what it is” .

Exactly!

Your minister is also reading too much into it, he could have used some milder words to enlighten us all about the issue as you have been doing previously, or may be not, off lately!

Well he is saying something based on inputs from the defense forces...and if i go by your logic that politicians are well-calculated people than i am not sure how valid your statement would be that he is reading too much into it....Anyways no point in beating the dead horse....

i love the sugarcoat!

When it comes to your side of the border it is becomes 'just a thought', 'speculation' and 'preemptive actions', but when it lands inside our borders, you see those terror camps with naked eyes!! How delightful!

I did not sugar coat....You have every right to challenge the statement but challenge it don't out right reject it...If you again read the article you will see all he is saying is to buckle up against the pigs(terrorists)...

Well, with you leaders and top brass issuing vague, useless and far fetched statements i have to 'pre-conceive' my notions, that's natural.
That's the problem. I will have same feelings for leaders on your side...So being an intellectual you got to ignore the rhetoric and make sense out of the news.....

Fact remains a fact, how sugarcoated it may be, the bitterness finds its way up, that's again natural.
You are right...However lets not bitterness blindfold us....
There is always something more than the eye meets my dear :)
Agreed....

Why everything has to be 'perceived' in hindoostan?

Why cant you people work on tangibles?? Is it that difficult or may be that doesnt suits to your agenda and intentions??

it goes down to the hindoostany brahmin psyche itself

it doesn't suit them, they "self-servingly" prophesize.

i think you missed the 'statement' in the news:

May be i am not doing a good job in explaining my POV regarding this...Since it is off topic let me make one last attempt... Why i did not like the heading in this particular article is because it used one statement which is sansational whereas the content of the article don't revolve around the heading...For example what was the first question that would pop up in anyone'e head - What the heck Pakistan is up to now??....and after reading the article question changes to What the heck was the Big thing about??....

As far as the article on Yasin Malik title is appropriate because you get to know what and why he is saying about revival of militancy...

In the end it's just my view and personal opinion..You don't need to agree :)

See that's the problem.

You couldnt even prove that the mumbai thing had a govt cum ISI cum military backing and you came rushing towards us with the surgical thingy, and here you want us to 'digest' and just broad brush an accusation altogether! Why? Let's keep the playing field leveled, if that wouldnt bother you ;)

That's the problem. I will have same feelings for leaders on your side...So being an intellectual you got to ignore the rhetoric and make sense out of the news.....

Hmmm..the Ghandhian attitude. i love to pratice it in my personal life but not at the forum level. What would we do when this attitude would be replaced by Chankiyan school of thought? Any grantees?

You are right...However lets not bitterness blindfold us....
i wish your other countrymen (including your leaders and your military top brass) could understand this simple logic :)

Not agreed!
