just a suggestion there should be a thread about SOLUTIONS instead of just the blame game lets think together for solutions,
where the political parties cannot and will not solve problems , maybe you have an idea that can help
i dont care whoever implements them as long as something good comes out of it,

I am a proponent of open source thinking and linux

1let me go first , my friend is a pharmacist never got his degree( he passed but changed proffession and went abroad) and i was asked to collect it after 10 years so, when i inquired i found out that his degree was claimed and upon further investigation found out that someone was using it as category a for a drug store
The drug store industry could use a centralised database as where the degree is being used and vice versa if i go to a drug store should be able to verify that its a qualified person
this could also be applied to clinics so as to weed out quacks so i would know if i,m going to a dr or a quack

Any suggestions would b welcome

2nd I am a doctor by proffession
What i propose is that doctors and teachers should only work one place ie govt or private practice
same goes for teachers , what actually happens is that they dont teach in schools or colleges and force u to attend tuitions and coaching centres
as for doctors they dont attend u at govt hospitals and ask u to come in private practice
that has got to stop

case scenario 1
have a friend who works for NGO and has a govt job , guess what he works the NGO and only goes to govt job once a week and that only half day and gets full pay , so the poor people of ghot losing out , no medical treatment. The thing that galls me is that he has the new id card and the NGO or the govt dept can verify with just a click if hes working anyplace else

case scenario 2
My vc has 4 jobs, hes the vc, dean of medicine, proffessor of the ward and has private practice.
cancel the private practice and hes still got two more govt jobs

IN talkshows we hear all kind of different ideas but when i need advice a or ideas about doing business, agriculture or value added stuff its not in one place

Mobiles are very popular in this country as a means of communication. If we can exploit their widespread and use it to benefit people like farmers, and fishers by giving them active weather reports or updating prices of commodities, then there would be greater production and less losses.

Well idea is good to think about, but there are severe bottle necks
1. Who will manage and maintain the database and why, does it make any business sense?
2. Who will build the required infrastructure and convince everyone to follow the system, does system generates any direct benefit to drug store owner. No one wants to take any additional unwanted work.
3. How will you get the required skill set and manpower at all the ends to keep the database updated. How will you enforce it.
4. And once system is in place, how will one ensure that no misuse of such information is done.

The kind of system you are looking for is logically good, but its possible to develop, manage and maintain when all the sections of society is also growing to catch up with the speed of technology growth. You cannot ask someone to feed datas when you dont have basic electricity availability, slow internet access and computer illiterates working on system.

Infrastructure, knowledge quotient and educational sturdiness is required to ensure this kind of system.

A better solution of this problem at current level would be.
1. Municipality making it mandatory for Drug Store owners to display there registration certificates and other required documents at a visible place in Store.
2. Before giving a registration, the validity of the certificate should be cross checked with University and at the same time University should maintain its record of where the certificate was last used.

And when the rest of infrastructure is developed this data can be feed into networked system to provide realtime data to required parties.

hi vinny thanks for coments etc . U r overthinking it . Pakistan pharmacy council already exists .by law drugstore owner has to display a degree class a category or diploma cat b prominantly . I was saying there should b a way that u could cross reference pakisyan pharmacy council database-they already have one to check if drugstore guy is legit. Also in case scenario above some guy has degree of my friend without his knowledge and is using it without his consent. There is a loophole in the system where i could apply for a duplicate degree of someone without him ever knowing it. I went to pharmacy council and ofcourse they where of no help

for doctors u could check pmdc certificate
. Pmdc is database of drs of pakistan . And i the awam could check if dr is a quack
