Says the man who said Amma means goddess  Rather than comment on my malayalam skills and cultural awarness why not tell us about yours ?

Your last avatar was of krishna but you changed it to Mohanlal. You eat beef and see nothing wrong in blatant bigotry and discrimination by xtians.

Why not tell us what is your core beliefs rather than worry about mine ? You clearly crave attention and recognition in pdf. This is your chance.

Cancer Treatment - Living Legend Narayana Murthy

I would normally have left this alone with " everyone is free to their opinion" and say no more but I have heard of numerous cases where people play with their lives & lose it believing in alternate medicine (even Steve Jobs was one such). Happens plenty in India where people tend to be more gullible in these matters. I have not heard of the above mentioned gentleman & the fact that he charges nothing shows he is probably well intentioned but cancer & heart diseases are not matters to be dealt with casually. While cancer patients in terminal stages are very soft targets in their desperation, they only stand to lose their dignity & money, probably die sooner but their time is limited anyways. People with still curable chances lose a lot more than that.

Would tread very cautiously in recommending such treatments, if I were you.

Point is people turn to him when they have already exhausted all the available medical avenues. They go to him with their x-rays, their CT scans, their PET scan, their extensive diagnosis reports and not as the first choice. Point is that man has been doing it for dog years and the list of people going to him continues to grow including doctors and surgeons and other specialists. Steve Jobs was one smart man. Christopher Hitchens comes to my mind for all the agony he went through for his throat cancer and ultimately said he was wrong in his opinion that people should fight to end no matter what. He could still have gone to his grave without as much torture and pain as he endured going through his extensive radiation treatment.

Just read the comments down belong in that page to know what people say about him. Also the fact is he does not advertise himself nor seek any money. So yes he is well intentioned and selfless. Even a person who is a compounder in a clinic over years learns the dos and donts of basic medicine, and here you are casting aspersions on a person who actually has been handling thousands of people over the years without a blight to his name.

Not being anti-Indian is not enough. Fence sitters can change their side when it is convenient.

He is not a fence sitter, but out and outright secular in its poor sense. Result of Nehruvian socialism and social engineering by our establishment and media.

I haven't cast any aspersion on the gentleman concerned, I have no opinion on him. I discussed only the type of treatment that you seem to favour. If you wish to believe that this man performs miracles, that is upto you but I would hope that people do go to him only, as you say, after they have exhausted all other options (though if he is as good as you say, why isn't he a first choice?).

Steve jobs had pancreatic cancer, usually fatal but an extremely rare type that was known to offer very good prognosis if treated early. He chose to try alternate medicine and that cost him his life.

I sympathise with that view but he was talking about giving up fighting, not about alternate medicines. I have no idea what you know of end case cancer treatments by some of the alternate medicine practitioners but having dozens of enemas to "cleanse" the system of cancer is hardly a better way to go.

He is not a first choice because he has not set shop in the city. He lives in his forest village and has not spent any money on advertisement. People hear about him only through word of mouth and nothing else. Perhaps people around his village go to him as their first choice too.

Steve must have weighed his options after seeing all the probabilities. To think that he would not have carried out extensive research to opt for the type of medicine he did is just dumb.

what a lame statement,,,,go tell that to a cancer patient..:tsk:
u just debate for the sake of debating,,,,
learn to agree with ppl when they make a valid point n @Bang Galore did....
most of this so called "alternative medicine walas" sell nothing more then hope,,,,have seen enough cases to realize that .

Also it is not the type of treatment I prefer, it is just that I keep an open mind to both. Being naturally curious and skeptical also about the amount of falsehood that is peddled by big corporations and even medical journals like Lancet with an intention of leeching people off their money, I tend to take their claims cautiously. Likewise, I tend not to dismiss natural medicines when I see their efficacy in day to day life.

He ws recommended surgery immediately but he chose to try alternate options first. By the time he came back, the cancer had spread. Problem with extensive reserach.......

That lame statement was by the lord of skeptics Mr. Hitchens himself. I am his big big fan. Oh I had an aunt die of ovarian cancer at age 38 when the doctors refused to carry out any more chemotherapy. She lived for 8 months, 6 months more than the doctors gave her.
