Turkish Geopolitics/ Foreign Affairs

If isis acts like a real army rather than a guerilla army they will be easier to take out imo. Let them collect their toys. :butcher:

Even with the all of their now toys... i don't think they will fight like a standing army....
I bet they would load APCs with explosives and..... you know the rest. :)

This ISIS talks reminded me of the "leaked tapes" sometime ago... you remember Hakan Fidan was saying, "if these guys are a threat to our national security let's hit them." Davutoğlu was concerned because the army has to pass the Syrian border.. ann we never saw that attack....

Maybe it's better that we didn't attack them... because we didn't know that they had that much influence in Iraq... but the fact that we are doing nothing against them is a failure.

Im scared of car bombs honestly. Imagine if one goes off in istanbul. You can kiss tourism goodbye not to mention the fatalities.

:agree:

Either we should fully engage ISIS and destroy them in ME (which means we should both go in Iraq and Syria) or not engage them and support their enemies like FSA and KRG.

@Kaan

Have you ever been to Turkey ?

Or a combination of both, fully engage ISIS and at same time support KRG.
have u think what they will do after war ? they will switch to terror attack all over the turkey i think direct assault is big mistake

BTW turkish army dont need KRG help in destroying isis

Once we are involved, there will be no need for KRG or anybody else. At best they should stand clear from our army.... but the thing is the moment we engage ISIS, there will be some reaction from ISIS.... it is inevitable.

So, i'am saying if we ever go against them it is very important that we root them out of the region, or else time to time, car bombs will explode on our border gates... even there will be car bombs in Turkey.

The Turkish army may not need the KRG to destroy ISIS, it's that vacuum could occur after defeating ISIS, and Turkey would need someone stable to prevent another terrorist group from spawning

- ISIS operates in Eastern Syria and West-SouthWestern Iraq, KRG have zero influence over there.
- Maliki will never let KRG to expand it's operational area towards south
- Sunni Tribes will never welcome KRG presence.
-KRG won't go such an adventure and they are not that strong to take out ISIS, in ISIS controlled areas.

First of all, Maliki could eat sht as far as the KRG is concerned same with ISIS. Second, I wasn't suggesting KRG move south in Iraq but West into Northen Syria thus at the same time replacing the PKK. That way the KRG could create a secondary defence border across Southern Turkey.
