Most of us have done that, now what about if they keep knocking on your door anytime they choose to, and restart their preaching after all polite refusals on your part? That will become harassment and authorities will be called in to prevent it.
This is just about harassment, imagine when deceit and other unlawful tricks are the tactics used for conversion repeatedly.

it is exactly buyer beware, that is why governments (at least here in North America) have or finance consumer protection agencies.
Some schemes are just too overwhelming for the weak and less educated, and this is in the most advanced societies, the less advanced or the third world countries offer a much bigger pool of these education-weak people, hence a good opportunity for praying cons.

What Malaysian Govt did was as per their law. The law is supposed to provide justice. So what happened to that couple was justice as per the (Malaysian) system. It was not a one off case, it was simply following the law. How is it in any way blind hatred.

And Indians even go to Saudi Arabia for work, where women are not allowed to drive. It does not mean Saudia has good laws and neither is it relevant to this thread.

One example is what Malaysia does to its citizens who wish to leave Islam.

The thread is about how the Malaysian court has just ruled that Only Muslims would be allowed to use the word allah. The court has not said that only non Muslim non Malaysians would be barred.
It has just banned Malaysian Christian citizens, who have been using the word allah for centuries from using it anymore.

In this case its an example of Malaysian Government oppressing on Muslim malaysians by using the LAW.
One instance of the LAW being used to oppress non Muslms is what they do to Malaysian citizens who wish to leave Islam.

Malaysia’s highest court ruled yesterday that the Catholic newspaper Herald has no grounds to appeal a lower court decision preventing it from using the word “Allah” to refer to God.
A seven-member bench at the Federal Court decided by a narrow 4-to-3 majority to deny the Catholic paper the right of appeal.

Despite this, the government issued a statement yesterday evening reiterating the Najib administration’s commitment to its 10-point solution from 2011, and that Malaysian Christians are still free to call their God “Allah” in churches.
