What's new

Why going ' MAD ' won't work for India ?

Congrats ..

I guess Pakistan has no need to worry about India then ...

Have you seen posts of a TTA in page 5? Most of India's Nukes are rail mobile (I don't know from where he got the stats) and can be detect using HUMINT capability (yeah,right-HUMINT) and can be easily taken out (by whom?PAF?)

And he thinks Indian's would sit idle, despite having superior spy sats.

See it is basic math..even nuclear fallout and after effects are applicable to both the sides and not just India..hence the equation will essentially remain the same.

An easier way to understand this is..in case of nuclear war both sides lob 20 weapond of equal yield on each other(let's forget indian thermonuclear weapons for a minute) and all the weapons hit their target(lets even forget india's imminent deployment of missile sheilds.)And each weapons immidieate and after effect ..affects 10 million people each.

It would have affected 200 million people that's is 17 percent of Indian population buy a 100 percent of Pakistani population.

Indian missile sheilds are suppose to come online this year have been tested 8 times. .how many times had Pakistan tested MIRV or similar countermeasures?

Delusions are often comforting from bitter truth ...that's why so many people are willing to under their spell.

It's difficult for them to comprehend that sheer size of India's landmass, population , economy give India enormous leverage and margin to withstand perils of nuclear war .

Pakistan however will be virtually eliminated in any such war .

Pakistan has everything to lose in nuclear war with India .

@Secur

I am not saying that India will emerge as victorious in nuclear war with Pakistan ...but rather Pakistan will lose everything .

and that's why it is very important for Pakistan to prevent such war .

It is in greater interest of Pakistan that status quo be maintained .

No matter what Pakistan will never be able to challenge India's dominance ...your policy makers know that well that's why they had to bring china in Indo_pak equation to neutralize India .

How many new missiles Pakistan has developed and tested in last 5 years ?

How does it matter ? When we can effectively cover the most of India ? Why exactly do we need to shoot past you ? What purpose would it serve , my delusional fan-boy ?

Estimated-Ranges-of-Current-and-Potential-Pakistani-Ballistic-Missiles.jpg

Extend the range of the Shaheen-2 to 2500 km , the source quote a wrong figure and tell me what areas are left to be covered except the Islands of course .

what do you think how many Shaheen -2 will suffice to destroy India ....

But why only Shaheen-2 ? :D

Our government claims that, you got problem ?

Pokhran-II - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Max. yield 58 kt claimed by BARC; 12-25kt by independent estimate.[1][2]

This is what you call a thermonuclear weapon ? We have a similar one tested in Chagai-2 , insignificant sub kilotons yield . Not even close to 100 MT , let alone the 200 MT figure you responded in your post with .

No matter how fierce Pakistan's first strike may be ...it can never take out even half of India's nuclear arsenal. and with remaining half alone India can destroy Pakistan completely .

I agree that these guys are just comforting themselves with such insinuations .
after all denial is the most common psychological defense when the thoughts are obviously distressingly true .

Don't know from where you got this map ?

The linear distance between Karachi and Kolkata itself is 2181 km ....

the distance between Karachi to Dispur is 2,500 km ....and there are many north eastern states which extend beyond that ...

and as you agreed India's command center in Andaman is totally out of Pakistani range .

and your map is including whole of North east which is much further ?

You must be thinking 10 years ahead ?

Unless China lends you new missiles ( which it won't because it will be violating MTCR ) ...it will take years for you guys to have capability to envelope whole of India ...

Even then you don't have enough missiles to destroy India fully .

There are > 30,000 mid sized cities .
Most megacities are under Pakistani cover. But remember we do have ABM in place .

and as Pakistan attacks India...India is not going to keep quite .

Even if Pakistan launches 50 nuclear tipped missiles within first few hours of conflict ....Indian response will be massive enough that Pakistan will not be able use its remaining 50 nukes ...

with just 100 or even 200 nukes Pakistan can't win nuclear war with India .

This is the fact ...

Didn't you read the link I posted ?It answers many of your questions. We have operational Thermonuclear Warheads,as proved by that interview & development of lighter RVs.We have enough high performance computing capabilities to validate them too.

And official confirmation is far more credible than 'speculations'.

Wasn't Chagai II ,a FBF one?

By the way,who claimed 200MT? its 200kT.Same yield as our older FBF warheads but lighter-MIRV,perhaps.

India has thermonuclear bombs: Kakodkar - IBNLive

And you see RVs being designed to carry lighter warheads-Meanwhile there is a 200kT FBF design as well.

Mr Kakodkar had emphatically clarified how India possess thermo nuclear weapon .

and I think we have no reasons to doubt his clear message .

I do not understand despite such a open clarification in no uncertain terms ...some people continue to raise questions regarding India's thermo-nuclear capability .

May be he wanted to say tens of thousands of soldiers

Or in his attempt to dilute impact of tactical nuke ..he arrived at this ridiculously small number ...

I personally feel ..India has to keep policy of Massive retaliation ....India will survive any Pakistani nuclear attack ....but Pakistan will be completely wiped out fro world map .

I would still support sticking to NFU ....

thats why we have 200 nukes and counting so when we use it we use it!
and when a couple of nuke subs comes in the picture then India will be wiped out as well

If you think so ...
Well , Best of Luck then ...

You over assessed the power capibility of pakistan and when did pakistan had 200 nukes prove your Claims or shut up

The latest qualified estimate put Pakistan nuclear arsenal of 110(including the newly acquired TNWs) and India's at 100(including thermonuclear devices). I am not sure where you got this '200' figure from?

Nuclear Weapons: Who Has What at a Glance | Arms Control Association

Do you even have nuclear sub in development anywhere?

As far as plans of deploying nuclear weapons on conventional subs is concerned, there were rumors of Pakistan acquiring CJ-10 missiles with qing class submarines, proved to be utter nonsense.

Now there are rumors floating of Pakistan planning to acquire much smaller S20 submarines, which are unlikely to deploy any nuclear weapons.

@xyxmt added 90 nukes from his own account ...besides couple of nuke subs

Now India is really scared ...we better move out to pacific ocean ...or else Pakistan will wipe out with couple of nuke subs that even don't exist .....

The equation was never that simple and I never said that the aftereffects will be applicable to only a single side . Extrapolate the same data which you mentioned , what does it result when both countries use their complete arsenal theoretically . I still am unable to see the survival of India as a country as you claim . The problem arises that the damages aren't limited to people killed/injured and the infrastructure destroyed . Think of the environmental changes , contaminated water resources and infertile lands , the economy done-with , the chaos and mayhem and an absent Govt and system . Atmospheric winds carrying the fallout to distant lands , far from the ground zero . The question of survival with a massive arsenal like Pakistan doesn't arise . Of course , people will survive in large numbers , though without the semblance of a state as I made clear in my first post here .

Shaheen IA marked the beginning of testing countermeasures though there wasn't much data available from official sources , a common problem with Pakistani defense information .

In 2012, officially it was mentioned about the commencement of nuke sub and time frame was given 5-7 years
